When I update my drivers, do I do it before or after I load it into my computer. I'm moving it to my windows 7, computer so, should I download the drivers then hook up my cintiq?
@rushaa123 Be aware, if you use Win7 64, there are known issues with drivers not registering properly and connection randomly dropping when waking your computer from sleep/hibernation. I've had to reinstall drivers once due to this issue, but only once in the last year of ownership.

AH WHAT! DAMN IT! Now you tell me that you have a two year warranty on scratches on the screen!!!! I put two big scratches into my 21ux (plus a thousand smaller insignificant ones). Plus it came with a dead pixel that I forget about and go to wipe it off the screen! I'm 3-4 days away from having 2 years, not enough time to get contact with wacom im sure!
Hi i've got an imac 21ins with a core 2 duo processor and 4g ram, its gotta go back to work as it was on loan for me to do some work for them. I have a quad core PC with 6gigs of ram and a GTS 250 graphics card. ideally i'd like to keep the mac (lol) but are my pc specs good enough to adequately run a cintiq 21ux. i'm a real noob at this stuff and have only been usin computers for a couple of years for artwork. Great video. Just wanted to chime in about the end of your video where you posed the question about the toolbars and working with an extended desktop. I'm a PC user personally and have the same exact pain in the butt problem. Could be because I'm new to all this Wacom stuff and the Cintiq, but I have the same issue.
Do you have to buy extra programs like paint or photoshop ? And is the screen's size too small ? And finally, do you have to plug it on a computer to make it work or you can use it everywhere ?
I have a bamboo tablet hoping to try digital art but I just never seem to get use the thing. Its really different from paper in terms of feeling and just the whole experience. Your review was great but I was wondering does the cintiq help make the experience more well paper orientated in terms of drawing. Since I dont want to get the thing and learn that I still cant draw like I do on paper and tablets are expensive so ya. It be great if you let me know your opinion, thx.

Get the smudgeguard with the 2 fingers it feels a lot better for me personally. I have a pc, so I can't really help you out with your problem there, I just go into my options and select my Cintiq as the only screen to be in use, after my pc recognized that it was a pen tablet it worked.
You might like the 21ux, but try one out first, 12wx is more versatile (to me).
Such a friendly guy! Though I'm not geting a Cintiq 12WX it was great review and I thought it was very interesting; the bit about costumer service gave me enough info that Wacom doesn't mess around and that's great. Awesome review mate, you squeezed so much info into those ten minutes! :)
Maybe I misunderstood, but could you not just save a preset workspace the way you want it for the tablet, and one for your monitor? I know you'd have to alternate workspaces as you move from tablet to monitor and vice versa, but it could save some time.
i had two smudge guarsd, but then added the protective screen from strong engineering and was awesome, because the glue its only on the sides, my cintiq 21ux feels now like an intuos 3 i recomend it.

Hi, I've never used a tablet b4 and am cosidering getting either the 12wx or 21ux. I draw in 2 sizes in the old fashioned way A3 or A4 paper. Can you reach these sizes on the 12wx? Can the work be printed with no loss of quality? May sound a silly question to you, really sorry if it is. Excellent review, by the way.
hmm, i dunno how old this vid is :).. cintiq 12wx i hear ya, i love it, if i could afford it id get the 21 hehe.. been a few years iv had this.. guessing by foam tip you mean felt tip ? also latest photoshops are self conatianed so no more annoyances with boxes going onto wrong screen etc,, wasnt just a imac problem.. end of the day, cintiqs are fun, worth the extortionate money :)
You have absolutely NO clue how helpful this was to me..! I plan on getting myeslf a Cintiq 12wx (I would get the bigger one if I wanted to wait for that many paychecks) within the next few weeks and I've already done a lot of reading up on it but this video was WAAYYY more helpful. Hi Dude, I'm a professional illustrator and have been using wacom tablets for years. But I really want a Cintiq 21 but its over FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS here in New Zealand!!! So what I want to know is, is the Cintiq 12WX large enough in your opinion? I would be using it with my Mac Pro with 23 inch display as my main screen. Looks good and a nice size to rotate etc. Is it much faster to use than a standard tablet? Cheers, Scott
@Scopie33 i do not know how much the shipping will cost to new zealand but if you look at sale sites you can find much cheaper than 5k dollars Oo in sweden if i order one of those it will cost me only about 2 thousand dollars and that is 3k less. i am also trying to get me one and the 21ux looks so damn nice to have but abit to expensive for me the 12wx i think is A4 or A5 kind of enough imo.. but my point was to look around if you can buy from the states at amazon or somthing.. gl :D
I Just sold my 12wx for an Intous4 large, after using the 12wx for the past 20 months i found that it's to small for all of my work. For many things it's just right. but for things like 3d work an doing large final pieces you need a large intous or the 21.
And for that pricing try ebay and have it ship to you.
The Ipad doesn't seem too impressive, but I would be interested in seeing how that game turns out. If your buying electronics like these, you are truly dedicated.
Nice video ... I just got my wacom cintiq 12wx yesterday .. and it's been several hours non stop experimenting. I am primarily a cartoonist ... I've been drawing on it .. however need to figure out from keeping the screen jumping from 0% to 100% to like 1000% ... still on a learnin' curve with this ... hoping that i just won't be scanning everything in and touching it up with the wacom ... still stoked, still experimenting ... I've been conventional (ol' school) for sooo long

16' bucks for a pinkie glove, wow, when and if i decide to get one I will just buy a full silk pool glove and cut of the thumb and three fingers and rock it, ghetto but it works. Also I heard that it's best to get a bigger size 12WX because some feel that the smaller ones are to tight. I don't know but when the universal bless me with that tool I will kick ass on it with a Mac or PC. But I will always stay with the traditional way of paper, pen and ink. SUN, have fun and do good in art.

@Nilz4FR It always those who have a Mac say that PC sucks. But I found out that It's the Artist that makes is work. To it doesn't matter, if your good your good. But it's good to focus on the skill and not the tool. have fun with your Mac.
kewl stuff. I dunno about the issue you have with the photoshop tool bar (if you haven't fixed it yet). I just got a Mac laptop because I'm a graphic design student (or was..just graduated). I love my wacom tablet as well. Don't got a fancy one like that you one got tho. Mine doesn't display the screen on the tablet.

No it would void your warranty. The screen is made to be used and during normal use, if it scratches you are covered for two years.

hmm, i dunno how old this vid is :).. cintiq 12wx i hear ya, i love it, if i could afford it id get the 21 hehe.. been a few years iv had this.. guessing by foam tip you mean felt tip ? also latest photoshops are self conatianed so no more annoyances with boxes going onto wrong screen etc,, wasnt just a imac problem.. end of the day, cintiqs are fun, worth the extortionate money :)

You have absolutely NO clue how helpful this was to me..! I plan on getting myeslf a Cintiq 12wx (I would get the bigger one if I wanted to wait for that many paychecks) within the next few weeks and I've already done a lot of reading up on it but this video was WAAYYY more helpful. XD I had no idea it had a TWO year warranty on it(my friend owes me ten bucks now) But anyway; Thank you SOOO much for this vid. 8D

Hi Dude, I'm a professional illustrator and have been using wacom tablets for years. But I really want a Cintiq 21 but its over FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS here in New Zealand!!! So what I want to know is, is the Cintiq 12WX large enough in your opinion? I would be using it with my Mac Pro with 23 inch display as my main screen. Looks good and a nice size to rotate etc. Is it much faster to use than a standard tablet? Cheers, Scott

@Scopie33 i do not know how much the shipping will cost to new zealand but if you look at sale sites you can find much cheaper than 5k dollars Oo in sweden if i order one of those it will cost me only about 2 thousand dollars and that is 3k less. i am also trying to get me one and the 21ux looks so damn nice to have but abit to expensive for me the 12wx i think is A4 or A5 kind of enough imo.. but my point was to look around if you can buy from the states at amazon or somthing.. gl :D

I Just sold my 12wx for an Intous4 large, after using the 12wx for the past 20 months i found that it's to small for all of my work. For many things it's just right. but for things like 3d work an doing large final pieces you need a large intous or the 21.
And for that pricing try ebay and have it ship to you.

Nice video ... I just got my wacom cintiq 12wx yesterday .. and it's been several hours non stop experimenting. I am primarily a cartoonist ... I've been drawing on it .. however need to figure out from keeping the screen jumping from 0% to 100% to like 1000% ... still on a learnin' curve with this ... hoping that i just won't be scanning everything in and touching it up with the wacom ... still stoked, still experimenting ... I've been conventional (ol' school) for sooo long

So you must have spoken to a really nice person there....i have a cintiq 21ux and there were several problems with it...so i called them...and i had to pay 71.00 to ship mine back, and now i am without a cintiq for a couple of weeks...

16' bucks for a pinkie glove, wow, when and if i decide to get one I will just buy a full silk pool glove and cut of the thumb and three fingers and rock it, ghetto but it works. Also I heard that it's best to get a bigger size 12WX because some feel that the smaller ones are to tight. I don't know but when the universal bless me with that tool I will kick ass on it with a Mac or PC. But I will always stay with the traditional way of paper, pen and ink. SUN, have fun and do good in art.

kewl stuff. I dunno about the issue you have with the photoshop tool bar (if you haven't fixed it yet). I just got a Mac laptop because I'm a graphic design student (or was..just graduated). I love my wacom tablet as well. Don't got a fancy one like that you one got tho. Mine doesn't display the screen on the tablet.
