  • It's too bad that a guy as talented as Hoff ended up with Louie. He got very strong at Westside. But, he also learned to do sloppy competition lifts and expect to get away with them. Plus, he had somebody to back him up when he cheated.

What Louie has done with Hoff is a great example of what he's done to powerlifting in the last 10 years. Everybody considers this guy a godsend to the sport. I consider it a curse.

  • Don't get your feeling hurt ,but from here it was high not real high ,but high, Great lift extreme weight, but high Sorry!!!!

  • Geared vs. RAW is apples and oranges.

Im a RAW lifter but I respect the SHIT out of any man that can put 1000lbs on his back, or 600 for that matter, suited or not, we all train hard... well most of us.

  • so much controversy in powerlifting, not good

  • i wonder what his raw total is

  • haha yeah i know. a lot of people are blinded by how much the gear actually gives on the squats and benches. he's definitely strong no doubt, but i'd be surprised if he could total 1900 in belt and wraps.. he'd have to squat around 700 belt and wraps, bench mid 400's raw and pull mid 700's raw.......the only way to find out is ask him or someone who knows him personally. i'd like to know too

  • I think you're definitely stronger raw!

  • @EricLilliebridge He's only 19 mate. How many people totally 1900 raw at 19? Give him a few years and it wouldn't surprise me if he could. I agree, though, alot of people don't see how much equipment can add if used properly and tuned well. But, really, even then, you're only as strong as you are raw. A guy benching 200 may only bench 300 in a shirt, and 300 is a pretty common raw lift these days. I would love to know what he does raw, though, too.

  • Actually the guy you are responding too, eric Lilliebridge, is over 2000 raw which is why he is checking the credibility of this guy. Eric is a freak.

  • With the way multi-ply powerlifting is, asking about someone's raw total is like asking what their best hammer throw is: it's a completely different sport at this point. Nothing wrong with that, but that's the way it is. I doubt Hoff or anyone at Westside has squatted anything over 500 raw in a long time just because they spend a lot of time in some amount of gear, even if it's only briefs.

  • @ptarleton If you watch their videos, they do alot of their training raw. The truth is, gear does, if used right, give you alot of carryover, but you're still only as strong as you are raw. If you can bench 600 in a shirt that you have perfectly tuned, you're probably benching 500 or so raw, maybe 450. I agree with you its a different sport, though. Thats why powerlifting only lets raw compete against raw, single ply against single, multi against multi.

  • I've seen the Westside Videos. I won't pretend to know exactly what their doing, but from everything I've read now adays they always squat in at least briefs. I remember seeing Wendler asked what his Raw Squat was when he Squatted 1000 at Westside and he said he had absolutly no idea but that he squatted 700X2 in briefs in training.

I'm not saying these guys aren't strong. And they do a lot of raw benching. Doesn't matter what you wear when you train as long as you win.

  • @ptarleton Damn straight man.

Truth be told, I'm betting Wendler could squat 700 raw if he trained up to it for a few months.

  • I think I've also read that back when Jim was at Westside, Squatted 1000, and did 700X2 in briefs he said that during training he only squatted in the mid 800s in a suit and didn't really go all out except at meets.

So that 700X2 in briefs probably wasn't done all out, and was probably done at the end of a DE Squat workout after doing 10 sets of speed squats.

  • What a fucking ass clown.

  • Comment removed

  • No. No, I'm referring to that OTHER guy who tried to pass a 3-board press off as a legitimate bench press.

  • I dont care if this kid is on a hundred needles a day or what federation hes in or any bull like that.

    That is STRONG as hell!

  • fuck that.. that is rediculous... wow

  • MONSTERERR HOLY DAMNN speechless for a 19 yr old

  • SHOWING GROVETUCKY STILL IS THE BEST

  • yes tru westside has its perks but lexens the way to go.DAN DA SEXY MAN

  • damn ur 19 year old man...u can catch up to where kennly is at

  • Don't kid yourself.

  • AWESOME

  • his support gear is umconfortable and restricting, if ya know what i'm talking about

  • how much does he weigh

  • I can see where you're coming from with the bench press.. but it wasn't as dramatic as you make it out to be. "Technically" it may appear that he "scooped" it.. but I think it just stopped, as opposed to going down and coming back up.

I don't agree about the deadlift. Maybe I'm missing something...?

  • fucking greAt, you are an example that westside rules!

  • id really like to know if hes natural just to know

  • he's not

  • far out those are some decent lifts hahaha.

  • I never saw anyone dl in a squat suit

  • Then you've never seen a powerlifting meet.

  • im a bencher ive never been to an unlimeted full meet i do raw full meets

  • Well, then seeing you didn't know-

Now you do. It's quite common for guys to deadlift in their squats suits- especially if it corresponds to the way they pull. Otherwise, they'll buy a deadlift suit.

  • Strong SOB for sure. LOL at 1:45. "BUTT FUCK!"

  • Observation: you are stupid.

  • You obviously are a typical internet lifter who has never lifted in gear. If you had, like I have, you'd know that neither raw nor geared lifting is more "legitimate" than the other. REAL raw competitors do not insult people who wear gear because they are too worried about training hard. Internet warriors like you who have never and will never compete are the ones who obsess about gear.

  • Great comment. That guy is a fucking idiot.

You're exactly right.. those who lift in gear don't bash those who don't- and those who don't lift in gear don't bash those that do. It's the turn that the sport has taken. You can choose which path to follow, neither being wrong- just a personal preference. Some even follow both- Hell, the fucking best ever follows both... Donnie Thompson can squat 900 out of a suit, and 1150 in one- but he does it for the love of the sport.

  • Exactly. He doesn't have the "need" that we do. The need to be as strong as we can be; geared or raw. Since using gear is "cheating" how about those of you that criticize it put some gear on and total what other geared lifters (like Hoff) do? Because you can't. Most raw lifters that complain about gear aren't that strong and are looking for an excuse to not be strong. Do you think that geared lifters don't realize that gear puts more weight on? That's why they do it; to push as hard as they can.

  • his lifts will still be very high. you dont simply put on a suit and are automatically strong. you have to train with them. some suits add maybe 100-200 pounds maybe even more if you know how to use them well

  • great job. On secont attempt on bench pres, welkro on wrist band pop and that wasn't ruin your concentration. WOW!

    Thumbs up!

  • shit you even look like a mini andy bolton :)

  • you are a fucking freak
