  • This is the most brilliant, technically fluid and the warmest interpretation I ever heard. Fischer knows the piano very well, it's depths and tones and she produces such a very warm, singing tone on every compass. Berman and Anda sure have great repute with their Liszt renditions but Fischer is an amazingly addictive interpreter. Entremont's version was my first time to hear this piece and it was very good too but I cry to hear Fischer one more time, maybe ad infinitum. Amazing!

  • she's such an addictive pianist to listen to coz of how she produces warm and singing tones even in bravura passages. I wish she played all my favorite composers (Rachmaninoff and Prokofieff included) and I couldn't wait to hear her play them all. I can already imagine hearing her play Prok's 3rd piano concerto. I lament that she had a physical condition (same as Byron Janis?) which deprived us of a very long career for her. She was such a rarity!

  • one either understands the importance of this woman or not.... je did not have the good conditions to make a lot of recordings but what was recorded lets us speachless.

Nobody else plays so directly from his heart than this artist. Even Lipatti or Haskil did not have that convincing power .Richter admired her. In the west we nearly all missed to follow her career. But the documents left behind gives us a slight look on it...

  • I like the way her right hand plays, it provides better continuity and smoother flow than Arrau's and Richter's. Hamelin plays it similarly.

  • Played with fluency, strength and intelligence as well as sensitivity (e.g. especially 2'.50" - 3'.00"), although I miss the space and sheer beauty of Arrau.

  • Listen the EILEEN JOYCE´s performance of this étude. She was considered because of her perfect technique (considered the most brilliant of the pianists of the XX century), but also her lyrical interpretation too. I posted it. If you know someone most beautiful, tellme :) Besides, Annie Fischer was more respected because of her Beethoven, Schumann, Mozart and Bela Bartok performances, despite the fact that she had studied at Liszt Conservatoire. But I love her!!
