Lots of references to stitch in my side, but not the tailoring reference I was looking for. Good demo as well. Apropos of nothing, I had a similar search meltdown for the "fore stitch" until I discovered, as I suspected, it was just a running stitch. :-)
@Dunetraveller Yeah, after a little more reading, turns out that the stitch is actually called for in various period instructions, but no one actually had a detailed explanation as to how to properly make it. Page 70 of "The Victorian Tailor" that was just released ives a very detailed explanation plus a diagram. Pictures always help.
Cool. I'll definitely use this. Reminds me of another great hidden stitch: drop stitch :)
