  • Great Tone! Very Nice Sound !! Good job on the Build !!!

  • Why did you put "Marshall" on this amp? To point out the obvious it's not. Why not put your name on it.

  • Very nice build :)

  • Part two I have downloaded the schematics for this amp would you do me a favor and download them or take a look at hem from ax84.com and confirm that it is or isn't the same schematice that you used? I'm new at this and I need all the help I can get! It's your fault for making that damn thing sound so goood! Please let me know and Thank You for your time and for posting this little gem!

  • @Sign0fthetimes

I built this amp in 2006. You can find the older schematics on the ax84 website. I've built a few of their amps since then, and the best high gain tone I've found was from their SEL kit. I'd definitely get that one if you're looking for a metal tone. Pair it with a hellatone 60 from avatar speakers and you'll be in high gain heaven. It'll do everything this amp does and then some. Good luck.

  • Hello, I seen other videos on this very same amp that you've built why does yours sound so much better especially towards the end of the video when it sounds like it could breath fire? As far as I can tell you're not using any distortion pedal yet you got that amp to sound like that off of 3 tubes I'm amazed! Do you have a video of you actually building the unit or do you have pics as to what the electronics inside the amp looks like? I want to built this amp but I want it to sound like yours!

  • @Sign0fthetimes Don't know if this is anything to do with the difference you hear, but this one says its an EL34 power tube (assuming its not a typo), a stock high octane is EL84. Not sure if the EL34 would even be overdriven at vol=2 though.

  • Think of another name make more and sell them.

  • yours sounds pretty good, sound a little to master volume-y for my taste

  • I tried out class 5 about a month ago. I liked it because it had a warm sound in lower volume and nice crunch sound at high level, but it sounded a bit muddy. Your amp kicks serious behind. High volume sounds a lot cleaner and retains a nice crunch, a lot more articulate than class 5. I just found my next amp!!! Thanks for the dimension. .

  • Do you have the dimensions for the cab?

  • 18H x 15W x 9D

  • soundsway better then a crappy class 5 to me

  • That doesnt sound as good as my Class 5. Maybe do another video that shows what yours can do?
