  • I hear you on the moth thing. I hate moths too. SO gross and fluttery and yechhhhhhh....!

  • if someone you have loved has ever died then that last part.....god damn i nearly cried

  • That letter is so sad :( She must have loved him so much

  • I'm not the mushy-huggy type, but DAMN. It was so painful to listen to that letter. Major kudos to the VA & the writer.

  • Nice job! I know it might be annoying for people to comment on these videos a year or so after you finished to answer a question of yours, but I wanted to say that the rooftop battle is meant to represent a courtroom. A painting in the Historical Society's entrance shows a courtroom. You can't examine it, but it's the same appearance as this one. So I suppose it's meant to show that James is "on trial." As far as Mary's appearance goes, it's her trapped in the hospital bed. :) Again, nice job!

  • Fortunately you dont get the ending with the dog. That would be very ridiculous and inappropriate.

  • After this, James I reckon will become a millionaire. He's got a fortune in "Health Drinks" to flog on the market, premium price. Plus, I reckon the Med Kits will contain Morphine, because this is silent hill and nobody cares about things like "Health and Safety", so he can sell them too. James is quids in!

  • james should have said at the end..."im sorry mary...but i dont like you...I LIKE BOWLING!!!" *PH ATTACK* lol. but the ending was a bit sad.

  • After a lot of crying, all I could think of was "James, you complete and utter wanker, you killed Mary."

  • So if that`s the ending, and that`s the story, then what the hell was all that stuff about Pyramid head, the manikins, the relasioship with the pillow, the girl, the killing and that fatso Eddie. Whaaat theeee heeeell?

  • @ivegot2words4ya If I'm understanding it correctly, Pyramid Head was always just to "punish" James for his sins. The mannequins, much like nurses, resort from his sexual tension, and this is probably why Pyramid Head loves to rape them. The pillow is a godly tool of love and judgment, and doesn't need to be explained at all because every aspect of it makes all the sense that could possibly exist. Angela was depressed and hated her parents, and Eddie was tired of being bullied.

  • @IchimotoKun Ok that makes sence. That cleared up some stuff, but I`m still confused about some other things, but I don`t wanna bore you with it,

  • @IchimotoKun What about Laura though? I never got her, is she meant to be innonence or the reality that none of it is really happening? Is she meant to be ignorance/denial of events, like oh that never happened to me or I didnt do that? Or is she meant to represent internal confusion or simplification of the events. Maybe she is like your sub-conscious telling you - "oh dont go there!, dont do that! You're destroying yourself! etc.. Maybe she doesnt exist at all- metaphor for realising actions?

  • @patsybob Laura has no deep psychological trauma, and is basically just an innocent little girl. Because of this, she doesn't see any monsters, like the others who do.

  • @patsybob Laura is supposed to represent the things James' hated about Mary. How she was stubbern and mean to him while she was ill (showed by Laura at the beggining of the game,) and the fact that she was completly innocent and didn't deserve to be killed (showed by Laura being a child) The fact that James walked out with Laura has great singnificance that I can't go into right now. Hope this helped.

  • What are those things on her toes?? What`s that thing around her head?? Why couldn`t we see what happened if Maria attacked??

  • Ehh.....? A floating bed? With a woman in it? No, how could THAT ever be dangerous? It`s not like it`s gonna summon many moths or anything. Nooooo. And I`m like "What the fuck? Why is she like this? How can she be a bed? Then again, how can any of these things happen? It`s probably just some kind of dream. And again, what does she look like? Why can`t we see her? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??"

  • Well... that was depressing. It was such a good LP though, Im so glad I watched it :D You're a great LPer, minx c:

But damn.. the ending was sad.

  • wow this games so sad but also deep.

my favrt part was when james said "I LIKE BOWLING!!!"

  • I love you Mangaminx, I watched your Silent Hill: 2 let's play all over again :)

  • :( i cried

  • am I the only one who doesnt cry at the letter??? God I fail at emotional things.

  • @XSatsukeX You're not the only one......I felt like I should be crying but I guess I'm just all dryed up :S

  • @XSatsukeX I rarely do end up crying, but it was definitely a sad moment. :P

  • James is wandering through a hotel.

    A wild Maria appears!

    James used rifle

    It's somewhat effective.

    Maria uses moths

    It misses

    James uses Pyramid Head attack

    It's super effective!

  • the letter really does get to you at the end.. loved the game first time eva seen it! well worth it :)

  • the letter at the end always makes me want to cry

  • Darn, I was kinda hoping you'd get the Maria ending because I kind of sympathise with her after watching the ending of the Born From A Wish scenario. :(

    I also hate Laura...

  • what a lovely ending

  • Thats such an amazing ending ._. <3

  • Maria was always a monster?

  • @MrFendkg287316 yeh Maria was another demon sent to torment James. The other three characters never see or mention her. In fact, she avoids encountering Eddie and Laura at the bowling alley, prefering to stay outside. It’s possible that if she were to go inside, she would appear differently to the others, much like the way Anglea saw the “door monster” as her own father.

  • @veedfreak Make sense now thank you(:

  • I don't under stand the letter was it a chrap or he dident read all of it WTFFITAH

  • lol, Great Knife chopped her right thru the crotch

  • thumbs up if you cried at that letter, i did. :'(

  • That letter is heart-wrenching :(

  • I baww every time, even though i have that letter monologue memorized. T~T

Great Let's Play, Mangaminx. I bit different than normal, but still really good. It's hard to pull off a LP of a game i've not only played a bajillion times, but seen everyone else LP, and still make me smile, laugh, and cry.

    *high five*

  • Wow. Since I have never played Silent Hill 2, this whole story was new to me and just...wow. The ending was beautiful, probably the most touching and real out of all of the games I've played before. Wonderful LP. You're brilliance is the sunshine of my life ;D Keep up the good work, Mangaminx!

  • The camera angle seems to be a greater opponent then the dam boss!

  • weeey great LP like always miss Minx! :D you always manage to be so dang good at every game O_o *thumbs up*

  • loved your lp's it was awesome! but im not going to lie i didnt have a clue what was going on half the time! also the ending was so sad and made sense.

  • hey mangaminx, r u gonna do the born from a wish sub-scenario?

  • Wow, that end letter is painful to listen to. Way too real.

  • This was absolutely epic, love. :3 Well done! *hugs*

  • I absolutely loved every second of it, thanks for all the time and effort you put into this LP! Well done on another good one. Looking forward to more from you, as always~

  • I really feel bad for Maria here. She was created from James's mind, killed several times by his other creation and then James just kinda throws her away since he doesn't need her.

  • Wow - I have actually never thought to use the PH knife for that final blow. It's almost the only place where it's useful. Nice touch, Minx.

I love the ending you got.

  • One of the better endings, then. Resolution and forgiveness.

  • Another great LP from you, MangaMinx! I've wanted to see this game in action, and I thank you for making it so enjoyable. And 666theheartless666 did a wonderful job with the narration (it almost didn't sound like him!), and of course, I love Deafinition's opener for you. Now on to more Amnesia (quite friggin' freaky) and your other new LP.

And I love your weapon of choice for the final blow--just perfect and beautiful!

  • P.S. Also, awesome lets play as usually Mangaminx!

  • The ending always makes me cry- the voice actress for Mary is just great.

  • Mary is the only really, really good voice actor. That last letter is amazing. I love this game.

  • @Lavampeace I know, right? The last few lines are absolutely heartbreaking.

  • oh i almost forgot, i didn't think of them, i found them on a site so i'm not taking credit of them :3

  • and the 2nt one^^

An alternative interpretation posits that Mary is a product of sexual dysfunction, like much of the Silent Hill 2 scenery and creatures. Her angry approach before the fight is an alarm to James, as it makes him feel inferior, and by extension, impotent. The resulting battle and demonization of Mary/Maria is a way of reasserting his power and masculinity.

    hope you enjoy it :3

  • @ZeroTheHeartlessKing Well the thing is Mary is dead, Maria is the product of his sexual dysfunction, she even says so before the fight.

  • @CrazedKitsune yea i said i used that from a site (i think the 1th one is better myself) but it is to describe mary's form, if you like i can send it to you :3

  • @ZeroTheHeartlessKing I didn't see any mention of them being from a site, just that you had 2, apparently opinions, on the symbolism.

  • well i have 2 (of the Symbolism about mary) here is one

Mary's form represents James' conflicted emotions towards her during her final days. The metal lattice symbolizes Mary's sense of confinement in being bedridden due to her illness. The moths are used to symbolize death as they do in Japan. Comparatively, Maria has a tattoo shaped like a butterfly which represents rebirth in Japan. Ironically, Mary can also use the tentacle to strangle James, similar to his asphyxiation of her.

  • A fantastic game played by an amazing Let's Player. Thank you, Mangaminx. It's been a joy to watch. =)

  • the whole letter was amazingly done, but that last line and how it was delivered just got me. best ending. best LP i've seen. awesome job, mangaminx. =]

  • Mary actually looks like a female James here, which is disturbing...

But, great LP, Mangaminx! I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to more Amnesia!

  • @yunakitty ugggghhhhh! why did you say that!?!? i can't stop seeing it now! James in a dress... just uggggghhhhh!

  • and thats this endings version of the whole letter james got at the beggining of the game. rly makes you think, he didnt have to come here

  • Excellent LP, Minxie, as always! Looking forward to more Amnesia and the other new one! ^_^

  • There's so many endings for SH2, but I feel like this is my favourite one. While it wraps up their love and story together, it gives a conclusion for Laura to, being with james (He adopted her I think) and tells exactly what Maria actually was. Awesome LP!! And ... Epic finishing move!! :D Fatality!

  • another great LP (: i absolutely loved every bit of it.

  • Whoa :|

  • As far as I know, I think the cage she was in is supposed to symbolize how she was trapped in bed and the moths symbolize death and despair, in contrast to marias butterflies :P

  • I never understand the endings...

    D:

    xDDD

  • best silent hill 2 LP -ever- and that's saying something, cause there are multitudes of them on youtube. really nicely done, miss minx :] i really can't wait for more amnesia and whatever else you got coming next <3

  • Woot!!! Great LP yet again. You're my fave LPer!
