does it get rid of fluoride?

Hi alvisc2002, this system is currently tested and certified for 96% fluoride reduction. My children grew up on well water where no fluoride was being added. When they were small the dentist had them on flouride tablets for a few years for the dental benefits.  Beyond a certain age (can't remember specifically when), he said it was no longer necessary. I had the previous model of this system installed over 12 years ago, zero problems, zero maintainance, only installed a couple of filters, that was a very simple exchange. I feel that this was one of the smartest purchases I ever made. I have tested the water from time to time and it is 99% pure, can’t drink water from plastic bottles no more and I am doing the right thing by keeping plastic from landfills. I would say my unit has paid for itself a few times over and my ice is perfect.

@1635265 Glad you are having a good experience with your Kinetico water. Most of us at Kinetico have a K5 in our own homes. I have pretty bad well water, and my K5 has made all the difference. I also like the peace of mind of the optional PurefectaGuard microbiological filter (for virus and bacteria protection) that can be added in. Not knowing what may get down in the well, I feel a lot better about the family drinking it every day.

I purchased a house that came with a Kinetico K5, recently a have very little water pressure. Do I have to replace the filters?

Do you have well or city water? Pressure comes from the main house water line pressure, not a bladder as with all other ROs.

If the first filter is clogged, pressure might be diminshed.

Thanks for the response. I contacted your distributer in my area (Water Wizard) and they were very helpful, I needed new filters and everything is back to normal.
