  • They couldn't find a japanese to cook a japanese dish????

  • They're not trying to trick anyone...the name and accent is clearly Chinese.....

  • This [Teriyaki] is not a true Japanese food, but a Japanese American food.

  • LOL it's hilarious how people are sooo sure she's Japanese, hahaha so stoopid. I'm chinese and I'm 100% sure she is NOT Japanese. And if you were paying attention her last name isn't even Japanese. Come on, people.

  • This is a the base real Teriyaki sauce. Soya, Mirin and suger and thats it. How do you make it? You have the same amount of mirin as you have soya then you add the suger, how much suger you add is up to your taste. But remember that japanese like it very sweet I think it is way to sweet for my taste so I balance it more but the sause should be sweet in the taste.

  • i used soya sauce and i cooked it

and it became stinky and salty and it was a disaster i can tbelieve how people use it

is this the ordinary salty soya we are talking about? i dont get

  • @TheRogueMonk for me only kikkoman brand soya sauce is the good soya sauce

  • NO... the cook is def. Shanghainess~ knew from the accent

  • ok in japanese teriyakii is tradtionaly with chicken and dont use green onion like that so far its looking like contemary bulgoki (korean sweet marinated beef) but i should watch the second vid now

  • thx for sharing

  • Shut up already!!!

Its about the food, not where they come from.

Did you tried the recipe, guess not.

    Its delicious :D

  • @PeterStorm81 i have tried and i agree its great in taste but i would not call it teriyaki.

  • @TheRivalConcept Well it actually is :)

The word Teriyaki is actually two japanese words combined. Teri means luster, and yaki means grill or broil.

To make authentic Teriyaki sauce, you need soy sauce, mirin and sugar, very easy to make :)

Mirin is a 14% alcohol based cooking wine. But you can also make the sauce with sake as a substitute.

So this video actually is 100% ok :).

If you want to use mirin go to a speciality shop and look for the brands Takara or Mitsukan, these are very good :)

  • @PeterStorm81 i when i went to japan and I said i love teriyaki beef they were like WTF? cuz in japanese the most common and TRADITIONAL is CHICKEN and Traditional Teriyaki NEVER uses garlic or onion or scallions, it just uses soy sauce sugar and mirin and sake. and I know wht mirin is...i use it a lot and I use a korean version called Mirim and another called Mijeong (but they are the same as Mirin) so the non tradtional part is hte onion apple and beef =.=

  • @TheRivalConcept Ok :) thanx for telling me. i simply thought teriyaki is the marinade for the meat (whatever the meat was), and the way its being prepared like on the grill is what teriyaki gives its meaning.

Then besides that, vegetables, fruits and rice or whatever is at hand, can be added along side :).

Oh well always fun to learn some more everyday :)

  • "mirin is a sweet rice wine..that is sweet and alcoholic" thatz quite informative..

and she read 'sake' as "sucky"~

  • LDLD salt, LD wine, LDLD apple :)))) funny

  • japanese chef cant talk

  • I'm totally digging the bossy chinese lady.

  • japanese food is not hat hard so you don't need a jap cook to cook it well .

  • Bollocks.

  • This video is weird, it's not a real Japanese food.

If you want to watch the real deal, check "cookingwithdog" on youtube.

  • @oirarnoknutgib right you are!

  • THIS LOOKS SO GOOD! YUMMY! ^. ^

  • the cook is not even japanese...lol, i think she is taiwanese...

  • @andijab000 that is the think taiwanese/chinese people who own japanese resturants make their food thou japanese by name Chinese in taste. and its ashame cuz if i wanted chinese food id have gone to a chinese restuarnt.

  • @andijab000 well it's more about actually gathering some knowledge before pretending to know how to cook something. This seems like a asian fusionistic take on a stir fry with teriyaki sauce.

  • @BrisbaneMile Hey, you retarded. ARE YOU A JAPANESE? DOU YOU SPEAK FLUENT JAPANESE? As a 100% Japanese, I say she is NEVER a Japanese, and you are a liar or nuts. 日本語もできねぇクズの豪州人が嘘つくんじゃねえよ! 顔洗って出直してこい!

  • yes it is

  • teriyaki is from japan u fucking asshole

  • the way she says 'scallion' is so hawt.

  • what's the cut of beef?!

  • prolly flank

  • it tasted good either way...:)

  • Deveria ser traduzido!!

  • yea..japanese broccoli sure looks like western broccoli, jeez..
