That's a good idea. It's easy and gets the job done. One thing I thought you might be able to fit in is one of those sharpening rods were the rod can be stored inside the handle. Just to touch up your blade if it needs it.
When I knife edges, I just use a rough stone from Home Depot and then a fine one to finish it off. It's always worked for me. As for the backpack review, I would think indoors would be easier to see and less hassle for you.
Great stuff. I just got my bk2 from chestnut ridge. It didn't come very sharp either. How much did u pay to have it sharpened?
