  • how are people so stupid to use there hole lives on growing a tree!

  • Do you think I could use this as a sort of training before I start growing my own bonsai? I have an idea to grow and maintain bonsai from the seeds of some trees from my backyard. Dogwood, hemlock, chestnut, apple, pear, and magnolia are what im planning on growing so far. I might do more. Ill eventually be moving and it will be taking a memory in tree form of the house I grew up in.

  • @LotusDragon09 I recommend not growing a bonsai from seed. You are better off digging up a sapling in the fall (after it's leaves fall off), then cut it down to a stump and prune its roots some to fit in a small pot. This program can help supplement learning but its really crucial to read up.

  • @Slackluster Yeah, I was going to buy some books anyway. Thanks for the reply! Well, there arent really any saplings I could dig up in my yard. I suppose I could look through the little woods area behind my backyard. It wont be what im trying to do, but if I can at least keep it alive until the next spring, ill know im at least somewhat competent and then can try seed or cuttings from trees in my yard. With how the housing market is, I wont be moving any time soon :).

  • Wow, really nice!

  • Did you use some kind of mathematical algorithm when scripting this program like the Fibonacci Sequence?

  • So entertaining, Thank You!!! (PS: What's the piece playing in the background?)

  • que cabron es un cheto. Este tio tiene treehack.

  • Upgrade your computer to keep up with that tree :)) after 10 years you have a very poor FPS

  • cool! :)

    whats the music?

  • it takes 14 years to play this game? that's just stupid ...

  • no it dosn't

  • it was supposed to be a joke man ... jesus !!!

  • lol

  • some people just don't get it .... eheheheh ....

  • A good idea and quite well implemented, so far. I hope it can be developed further.

What abour spring bud plucking, wiring, backbudding, defoliation and increasing speed of growth.

I'd be pretty disappointed if a maple of mine looked like this after 13 years work. I'd expect it to look like this after five or six years. But then I'd have grown it in the ground, used sacrifice branches to selectively thicken the trunk and chopped it dramatically two or three times.

  • There's something wrong with this game, it's not realistic!!

Most of the time you're pruning the tree in the fall, which if you did that in real life, the tree would die. In the game, It would be better if you could move branches and foilage out the way so you can see where to cut when it's NOT fall.

  • cool i wanna play it!

wish it was for xbox lol

  • I downloaded the game but and im on windows vista I changed the compatability to windows services pack 2 and still when i try to run the game i get a "d3dx9_39.dll was not found"

    Ive reinstalled and reinstalled it.

What do i do to make it work help please

  • This same exact thing happened to me too. I need help!!

  • this game looks so cool i cant wait till you get a full game version cause i will buy it bout time some one put a game of bonsai out

  • Thanks! There's a lot of work to be done, better graphics would be nice, but at this point I'm still more concerned with realistic growth simulation and adding more features.

  • I tried this game and it was awesome! i hope you will fullfill the whole game so i could enjoy other trees :D one thing i think you should improve is the graphics. it could be done a little bit better but as you said: its a prototype. hope ill see this game some day in the nearest future as a full version =) good luck to you m8
