Well it says in his description that the exhaust is dumped after the cats. Assuming he didnt remove the section of the pipes containing the O2 sensors, there shouldnt be any trouble. And modifying your exhaust AFTER the O2 streams WILL NOT AFFECT ANYTHING
I hate when people claim that you cant do anything to your exhaust because you have O2 sensors. THIS DOES NOT MATTER, the exhaust flows in one direction and thats rearwards. Removing a muffler is not going to affect the O2 readings AT ALL
Agree. If there's no reading from the O2 sensors, the Engine Control Module just gives the engine the default air/fuel mixture ratio. Mainly the O2 sensors just curb the air/fuel a little bit to control certain amounts of emissions being put out and not as much for the performance of the engine.

well technically your right but he has cats which creates some what good back pressure where as the mufflers only restrict sound, like the set up he has on this.
you don't want back pressure. you aim for velocity in exhaust. if one pulse can leave in a vacuum, creating another vacuum for the next pulse, u create a good exhaust. you might see a more powerful exhaust as a restrictive one due to it being smaller. but that doesnt mean its more restrictive. there is a fine line where to big or one where it dumps to early. it is a fine line between to big and to small. but in no way do motors want or need back pressure. sometimes a dump like this losses power
I think open exhaust means no mufflers. Mufflers restrict noise and no running without them means one mean ass sounding car. It should be illegal to put mufflers on a V8.

Well it says in his description that the exhaust is dumped after the cats. Assuming he didnt remove the section of the pipes containing the O2 sensors, there shouldnt be any trouble. And modifying your exhaust AFTER the O2 streams WILL NOT AFFECT ANYTHING
I hate when people claim that you cant do anything to your exhaust because you have O2 sensors. THIS DOES NOT MATTER, the exhaust flows in one direction and thats rearwards. Removing a muffler is not going to affect the O2 readings AT ALL

Agree. If there's no reading from the O2 sensors, the Engine Control Module just gives the engine the default air/fuel mixture ratio. Mainly the O2 sensors just curb the air/fuel a little bit to control certain amounts of emissions being put out and not as much for the performance of the engine.

Hey. at 2:04 there was a siren. That should've been taken out when the car was retired. But on the other hand, i would love to see a person's face that was either speeding or running a red light and you have that siren on.while your flashing your high beams. LOL. Then drive by and wave when he/she is scared that they have a cop on there butt. LMAO

you don't want back pressure. you aim for velocity in exhaust. if one pulse can leave in a vacuum, creating another vacuum for the next pulse, u create a good exhaust. you might see a more powerful exhaust as a restrictive one due to it being smaller. but that doesnt mean its more restrictive. there is a fine line where to big or one where it dumps to early. it is a fine line between to big and to small. but in no way do motors want or need back pressure. sometimes a dump like this losses power

I think open exhaust means no mufflers. Mufflers restrict noise and no running without them means one mean ass sounding car. It should be illegal to put mufflers on a V8.

yo Pocono, dont waste your time or money...just because they are termed as "Police Interceptor" does not mean they are fast, Example: My brother has a 1970 Challenger T/A Edition with a semi built 340 C.I. and was going 40 mph in a 30 mph zone and a Dodge Police Interceptor got on his ass and put his lights on to pull him over and my brother romped on it and slowly saw the cop disappear in his mirror. Then the cop radioed 4 other cops (all Interceptors with 440 Magnums) and outran them all!!!!

I know some did, at least here where i live in Washington, my brother with the Challenger got to know a few of them and they told him theirs had 440 Magnums, i dunno though, thats what i heard, maybe only in the Dodge Diplomants.......

Yea the Diplomats ran strong. Police Forces didnt use them for any great period of time though because they were notorious for "falling apart". Interior would go first, the door "grasp" handles would come off, seats and dash would start cracking, interior electrical problems, etc. ....Exterior body and window moldings would come off or "lift-up", paint oxidized quickly, and the transmissions would have to be rebuilt or replaced, they didnt last long either. The 440 powerplant....was good to go!!

the 440 was never put into the dodge diplomat, only the 318 and the magnum 360 4bbl was ever dropped into them. i would know i had 1 and my buddy had 6 including a diplomat pi with a 318 with 360 heads, 4bbl edlebrock and a shift kit in his. nice cars and pretty fast to. and i love the vics. i have a michigan state and ill have vids soon. :)

It will roast the tires if you want it to. There's a shitload of videos of these cars doing it....the low-end torque on these cars is comparable to your Z-28.
And I'll say this again (because dickheads whose brain is built by Carroll Shelby and their piss smells like 40 weight say this all the time) these cars are built for durability and the ability to outlast others. They aren't the fastest cars.
I know Z-28's top out at about 160 though, but you hit even a gnat head on, you're dead, bro.

my 92' 400E would smoke that... mercedes 4.2 litre hemi... 4740lbs... 300bhp.... and yes i know because i have raced 2 retired cop cars ,1 was 2002 and the other was 2004(good fight, but i was victorious) and a CHP(2006+) (on duty, don't ask...) CHP was pretty even but i was ahead and pulling... i have buried the speedo many times, because its so fucking easy!

I worked on those crown vics. they come off the ford line titled Police/Fleet. Big taxi company's get the same thing cops are getting now days. all there is to them is a chip, better shocks and a ultra light drive shaft. Oh and the spot light

Good luck finding one. But if you do grab it up. And then get the interceptor suspension under it. We used covette 8" wheels with some fat rubber. Its a hot setup. Oh and its ok if you call me crazy. I still know what I know.

they take off all their equipment leaving holes in the dash where the crap was screwed into, sometimes they put rubber plugs where they made holes in the body for lights and they rig up any original wiring back to factory setup. the only thing they usually leave in the car is that special round dome light fixture they use when they write your ass a ticket at night lol
