I worked in a restaurant with Tarik and we became pretty good friends, talking music for hours. I never got to see the Whorelords, this is a real treat. Tarik actually guested at a gig for a band I was in at Columbia in 1980 playing Pipeline-much in the style of his idol Johnny Thunders.
saw them at max's once and i remember this song. they got into fights with audience members, up ended tables, one guy and his girlfriend in the front stormed out after the bassist kicked their drinks over and he and the bassist rolled on the stage throwing punched. Audience hurled ice. What a night.
I remember playing A7 a few times, I played guitar for them in 1982... Bobby Steele played for a while, also Joey Image... there were many players in the Whorelords family
I was friends with Tarik shapli at the HS of Music & Art when he was with this band. I would love to get in touch with him. If anyone knows him, please drop me a line.
The Whorelords! Great stuff! Haven't heard of them in years... They were definately one of the original NYC bands. I think one or two of the Misfits were in this band at various times, and they would sometimes play the same gigs. The Whorelords live was always a spectacle, usually involving blood and police! Thanks for finding this rare piece of NY history!
I think after 3 trys you should learn your lesson becuase this band like theyre song says SUCKS they sound like total shit. How could compare them to any of those bands they NOTHING in common with any of them and aside from sid those bands are all American they have a wannabe cockney sound and not one shred of talent!
I'm related to Tarik shapli, no joke :)

Bobby Snotz was PUNK! The real deal. Period. If you don't agree, you don't understand punk.
