Brilliant. I was lucky enough to see Rubenstein several times in concert. and not once, with either Rubenstein or Daniil Trifonov did I worry about what their facial expression is. This isn't vaudeville. This is a brilliant, emotionally enlightening performance. Thanks for posting.
However soul-stirring this music is, his facial reactions are too exaggerated... One must look at Rubinstein when he plays.. Utmost emotional with the music but with a calm face...
With the different of age and style,Daniil Trifonov, remember me the first recording ( 1928),of the great master Alexander Brailowsky (is in You Tube).
Mr. Trifonov, professor Sergei Babayan's prize student at the Cleveland Institute of Music. A natural Chopin interpreter, body of sound nearly as impressive (recording only fair) as was Pollini's at about his age. The orchestra, perhaps not of at its highest performance level, improves as of 2nd. movt. (21:35) - but, hey...wouldn't have missed it!!! Am a fan. Thank you.

彼が10歳の時のサン・サーンス3番のコンチェルトを聴いたが、このショパンのコンチェルトも素晴らしい。フレーズのたっぷりした後の一緒にオーケストラが出るところは、余裕を持って深い音で始めるといいかも。

Daniil Trifonov and Zsolt Bognár are the two coolest pianists under the age of thirty alive today.

@Bruce88keys I think with that kind of performance he is allowed to make faces like a monkey, if he`d like to. who cares...

@Bruce88keys but the "faces" you talk about are appropriate to the passage/feeling, etc....What DO YOU play?

I don't want to exagerate, but that's one of the most beautiful versions I ever heard... What a sensibility, what a deep joy of playing!!
