  • That cut is embarrassing.

  • put down the saw and back away slowly..

  • Don't quit your day job! Lol I love when homeowners think "I can do that!" Might get lucky once or twice, but sooner or later...

  • Wow.. this is meant to be a how to video...more like a what not to do. back cut is only suppose to .5-1" above the bottom of the notch. Lucky it didn't end up as a barberchair. Angled back cuts...doesn't save tree from felling back. Try to put a wedge in there if needed.. Instead of lifting the curf it will push more....

  • Nice protective gear, nice cut ?!?!? You're not far away from a chainsaw accident!

  • 2:58 you straddle a branch, which appears to be under tension, then cut into it. Was this an attempt at a redneck VASECTOMY???

  • Showboating. Bloody reckless but THANKS! This was a fantastic teaching tool! We learnt that you don't need to use PPE to cut down a tree. Cheers.

  • its a common mistake to think that by angling your back cut downwards it will keep the tree from falling backwads. that is not true. the way wood splits down the grain means, if the tree is gonna fall backwads it will just split the stump and the tree will fall where it wants to. i hope you can pick up the book "to fell a tree"

  • @mauipalmandtreecare Angled backcuts are a Mythe

  • Allen: You seem like a nice guy, but you're going to get yourself killed or paralyzed by cutting like that.........

    1) no PPE

    2) your cutting prodedure and techniques are totally wrong.

**BUT I have to say, for an uninformed and unknowledgable sawyer, you DID LOOK UP, and USED YOUR ESCAPE ROUTE (although a poor escape route) and that's a good thing. It saved you this time.

    "Gravity.....It's the law."

  • that saw is way too underowered for that tree. and learn how to make proper face notches. god i hope you dont die. btw echo is a POS get a husqy or stihl pro saw.

  • "starts"

  • Shit for brains, I love how he makes sure the brake is off before he stants the saw

  • Alan Duvall that cut is dangerous as hell and for anyone who actually knows what they are doing it is totally embarrassing. Next time get a professional...sheesh....

  • good saw but i prefer stihl mine are ms270 and o46 they rock

  • You NEVER make the angled back cut like that! Always level. Ask any logger or check osha.
