Wow... I didn't learn of her passing until last night, 2 1/2 years after the fact...

I was in Japan from 1992-2000, so I watched her make her transformation from AV star to popular TV personality. She was special-- she had a tough, honest, sardonic personality, which set her apart from the typical bran-dead AV chick.

So, I'm still a little in shock by this. And I am saddened at the thought that it took a week before her body was found. A sad, lonely end... I'll never forget her.

@ronson232.....I too spent most of the 90's in Japan and came to find her as a very unique character. Yes, she was beautiful and funny, but she rose from her career as an AV star to become a woman who demonstrated toughness and brains (believe it or not) and had a open view on a variety of topics.....I too will never forget Ai-Chan!! Her face brings back many memories of my time in Japan.

my goodness, how can this be I just knew it today, just today feb. 11 2011.first it was Minako Honda and just now miss Ai Iijima (Matsue Okubo).one my my favorite japanese idols.I grew up in a time when this legends were so amazing, Im one of thier fans here in the Philippines as well, children whom I grew up use to love miss Ai Iijima for her true to life story how she struggled and lived her life, we were among the children whom she visited her in the Phil. only for a short while=)
