Glad your Sister is in recovery and something good is coming out of all, Your Sister is very inspiring to want to raise awareness and is clearly a very strong person. I can't say I've been through exactly what you're family have been through but my Gran was diagnosed with the same thing, with a less positive outcome. I think it puts your life into perspective when something like that happens and you realise that life is too short to sit and do nothing.... sorry for the essay lol

My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, which made it such a hard year for everyone in my family. Luckily she's fine now, I did Race for Life with her to raise some money this year. It's great your sister is raising awareness too! =)

But your right, it's bad only older women are tested for breast cancer, seeing as it can affect younger people too. I know someone in about her late twenties early thirties who was diagnosed recently.

it's really cool of you to help out with fundraising this way. i lost a friend to breast cancer this spring- she was 23 when diagnosed, 26 this year when she lost her fight- and you're right, people don't realize how frequently it impacts people our age. there's a benefit this week in honor of my friend and what little i can donate is going there, but i wanted to say thanks for doing this and that i'm so glad your sister is doing well!

I'm currently battling my own cancer at 19, not breast cancer but lymphoma. So needless to say I can totally get what your sister went through, and how important it is to spread the word that cancer can happen at any age. Because to be totally honest it never crossed my mind that at 19 I could be in this situation.
