  • Dude, you are spot on. I never realized how much I love this keyboard intro until seeing you do this. You are amazing.

  • You should contact them, there is a rumor of a 2010 album - maybe you could tour.

  • This is a great song an epic intro. Glad you posted this song. I saw an incarnation of Angel a couple of years ago at the Dallas Hard Rock Cafe play this song, it was awesome, gave me the chills, a great musical experience.

  • Wow I havent heard this song in years. This is my fav Angel song. Beautiful job.

  • yo know thats my favorite album of Angel Band.

  • bought helluve band as a KISS fan, went back and baught ANGE

On Earth was my fav, CAST the first stone

I can still remember listening to " only just a dream" at night goin to sleep

    Gregg, thanx for the memories

  • What a great song! One of rock's greatest, forgotten true epics!

Too bad Angel steered more to the mainstream after the 2nd album. Amazing vocals, guitar, keyboards, reminsicent of classic Uriah Heep, as opposed to comic book heroes Kiss!

  • Thanks for your kind words. This song was and is important to me. It represents power in a different form. Thanks again, Gregg Giuffria

  • My real bithday is 7/28/1951 I wish it was 55. Thanks again Gregg

  • Hi Gregg....just spoke to Bob, your game-design collague in Vegas and confirms that you were recently talking about someone writing to you about your age....so it is YOU!.....Thanks man for making this comment and don't ever forget that there are still Angel fans out there! :) The Fortune is for me one of the ultimate rock classics.

    Cheers,

    Andre Hubbeling

  • Hey Andre,

I was wondering if there is anyway you can send me some keyboard recordings of you playing Angel songs without the original recordings. I play guitar and like to do covers for fun and record them. Let me know if you would like to do something like that.

    Thanks,

    jpunkyt

  • Hi john, thanks for the invite, but I don't have the keyboard - only recordings.

Did you check out my VirtuallyRush band? cheers, Andre

  • did like the booty videos on your page :))

  • I was lucky to see them in 1979 or 1980. I believe they opened up fpr Ted Nugent or maybe Bad company. I remember going WOW. They were all in white. They looked like Angels . I think u can still find the music online.

  • i was only 15 years old when i first heard this and played it over and over again still have the album you brought back alot of memories 47 now still playing metal drums!now i know why i love 70"s music so much thanks:-))))

  • Thanx for the comment!

  • awesome song....I thought I was the only Angel fan left....so hard to find their music nowadays...thanks for a great posting

  • awesome..angel is still one of my favorite bands...

  • My favorite Angel song. I'm a huge fan. You have a great talent. Keep it going.

  • epic

  • My fav Angel song.

  • Wow, man... it's good to know Giuffria's work is still inspiring people. I did this intro way back in 1993 using a pipe organ, and the feeling was amazing! If you ever get to play a real pipe organ, try playing this intro, you'll never forget it!

  • fantastic my friend

  • ROland are ok keyboards (better smaplers exist) Have you ever played Mini Moog, Micro Moogs or Prodigies? With Marshalls or Hi Watts the bass sound can break houes down. Just ask ELP. Since youa re doing Angel songs how about the great FEELINGS? BTW I think Angel´s down fall was Frank´s voice being too high all of the time. And really Greg was the best player in the band. You nkow PUnky once tried ot rip off Eddie VanHalen...yeah true story.

  • Bonjour, merci for the comment, sorry for the late respons. No, I never played Moogs or Prodigies but I know they sound pretty awesome. I am very content with my two Roland G's and Juno 106.

I agree Feelings is high on my list but right now I am very busy learning Rush-Songs. Check out my VirtuallyRush project, it's on my homepage! and please leave a comment!

    Salut,

    Andre

  • Saw Angel in Milwaukee after Helluva Band release...with the halogram stage effects! They performed magnificantly! Punky's hair was perfect, Frank's voice was stellar, and Greg's keyboards mesmerizing! One of the classic rock songs of all time...have it on original LP..Nice post...honor to all Angel fans!

  • If only you had this on tape!....thanks for the comment. Recently I tried to get Gregg on the phone (I have the phonenumber of his company in Vegas), tried several times, spoke to one of his employees, he told me that Gregg is many times out of office, but calls every day, left my number but no reply.

Angel is probably a closed chapter in his life or he's just too busy. I know he had some very big damage due to Katrina (casino Biloxy) and his studio was burned to the ground a year earlier.

  • This is fantastic its obvious you've done your homework. From a guitar players point of view a masterpiece.

  • Is good stuff.A exellent Song

  • 1981 lernte ich dieses lied kennen undich schätze es bis heute - grandios

  • angel was the best 70s band forever! lots of bands "borrowed" from them. punky had a strat sound that cant be denied! blackmoor with different riffs! thank you !

  • At 2:44 it sounds just like pink floyd dark side of the moon

  • thats amazing man!

  • Haunting Power!!

  • This is some of the best music ever...this song haunted me for almost 20 years since I had it on tape and lost it ! I never knew the title of this song until now...thank you for this magical moment !

  • Thanks, bedankt! It's my serious ambition to play this song live with fellow musicians.

I realize this will not be easy. I am looking for an Angel-like singer, drummer, guitar-and bass player.

Look at my other fortune (intro) video: I can't wait to hear my keyboard,Roland Juno G, Fortune cover on a big PA! Those Roland ultra low basses will literally vibrate you on your feet, It's even so low you can't hear, but only feel them in your stomach.

Thanks for the comment and cheers!,

    Andre

  • This is some of the best music ever...I had it on tape but lost it about 20 years ago. I never knew the title of this song, until now...thank you very much for this magical moment...

  • I saw Guiffria open up for Deep Purple back in '85 when I was still in High School, freaking great concert man....

  • I always liked the artwork on the first two Angel albums especially. Such a cool logo, never understood why they broke up.

  • Andre, this is awesome man... This is probably my favorite Angel song. They just don't make rock n roll like this anymore. No more epic songs. This is a brilliant song, the arrangement, the intro, the solos.

  • That is very cool! Thanks for posting this.

  • wow bad ass!

  • woooooooooooooo so cool i love angel this band is very god we rock

  • Geweldig!!!

  • Ok, so what.
