Oh guys.... Bear is brave, strong, experienced, you name it.... And he knows his own skills. He,s just playing. Thise guys are just struggeling and crying to go home. Sooooo thas the differnece
Lol I like that all the actors were young athletic (good looking guys, for camera) guys and then you see what the real guy looked like. TFF No wonder this guy got in a jam hes used to journeying to the kitchen to get a twinkie.
I've seen all of Bear's stuff. He is probably the real deal, but if most people tried the stupid stuff he does on tv they'll probably never live to tell about it. Les Stroud is a better bet for folks who don't really know anything about survival.
The ropes are safety ropes to stop the man dying!! hes not using them to help him climb...
He makes a top show on Discovery they wouldnt allow him to do a dangerous climb like this without a safety rope, even if he wanted to..! The majority of climbs he does are freestyle and hes pretty good..!!! Wicked show!!
The difference between Bear Grylls and them, is that Bear is never afraid, like if he was always keeping hope. ( and he got some experience of course )
He also has a safety crew with climbing gear and the shots are never continuous they are always little glimpses so we don't know when he is using a rop eand when he is freestyling it
The scouts missed the whole point of going to the river. If they climb DOWN to get to the water, they are unlikely to climb back UP to help their incompetent guides. They should NEVER have split up, the guides knew the path and when to rest.
But the guides FAILED. They had the responsibility and authority to stop the boys wandering off like idiots.
Also, a good lesson in showing the importance of weather forecasts, even for a desert to know if it is going to be way too hot.
they should of made a rope, out of their clothes ect. He threw away his backpack why? he could of stripped it used the cords and staps ect, t-shirts, shoe laces ect ect ect even if it only stretched 20ft. I'd rather fall 180ft than 200ft lmfao. The scout leaders where shite, wtf was a 71 year old doing in that situation. They made to many fuck-ups and free climbing at 200ft is fkin absolutely daft.
take what ya get and filter off what u think is wrong ... at the end of the day if what he says is useful it saves ur life its worth gold if its killed u.. u were gonna die nyway the shows made for survival ..not happy campin ...
I don't see how these videos even ask the question of whether his advice is useful; it seems you're just saying that it is, because you're validating everything the boy scouts are doing with things Bear Grylls is doing. I'm not sure what the point of the videos are unless you're making the point that Bear knows what he's talking about.

Yes they are, I have my own version of Man Vs. Wild called Teen Vs. Wild and I use alot of Bears tactics and advice and they work fine.
I would say that 99.9% of his advice is correct after all he served in the SAS.
To see Teen Vs. Wild search chayward16 in the youtube search bar and click on on of the episodes.

If you can't see his rope during the 3:54+, watch his right arm. The rope bounces up and down from behind it momentarily.

bears advice is useful. There's always going to be danger in a survival situation. You have to do what you have to do. It's not a vacation.

If one is to climb anything in a survival-situation it had better damn be a last resort. Think about the energy wasted.

Bear is a good climber there is no doubt of
that, he climbed Everest! The problem in the story of these boys is that they never should have been put in this predicament in tne first place. That reponsability falls to their scout leaders who did not prepare for

@5Hawk972 Everest isnt difficult to climb. The dangerous about climbing Everest is the lack of oxygen.
