@lenn137 'Tis a Chapter and as we know by GW's word (which some might like to contest) it is impossible for female Space Marines. Go to Dark Heresy for that sort of stuff.

@PROkiller16 Technically, the Deathwatch is not a specific chapter; it is made up of many chapters and is the militant wing of the Ordo Xenos. My point was asking how is a woman supposed to effectively combat aliens on par with the Deathwatch? As for Dark Heresy, it takes a long time (some 13,000 xp) to level or create a character that can touch a beginning Space Marine.

@lenn137 I've had this arguement before, it is on the Chapter records and counts as a Space Marine Chapter. Just because it recruits from other Chapters doesn't lessen it's status as a Chapter.

They're not, they just simply aren't. The toughest fighting force made of women is the Sisters of Battle and as we all know they're basically crapy Space Marines and you'd go for a Flashlight trooper anyday over them. Of course off record go look in some of the non-canon Chapters.

@PROkiller16 They lack a Chapter Master,singular Primarch, independent geneseed, nor does insignia change when they join. They simply don't meet the criteria. It is a Chamber Militant of the Ordo Xenos and not a separate Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes, "Chapter" is used to make it easier.

Back to the argument, my original statement was not "Sister Space Marines," but that from a game designer's perspective, it would be in FFS's best interest to come up with a female-player friendly option.

The Deathwatch are Space Marines, just Space Marines. A killteam is sent in the kill, given different curcumstances you might have an Inquisitor but otherwise no. Done.

It's actually not so complex at all. It's much easier to understand and master than most other roleplaying games. The book is really complete and covers everything you need ot know to roleplay this game. Buy the Deathwatch book, read it (or at least part of it) and you're ready to become an epic Space Marine!

That's kinda why the only bit of deathwatch truthfully in my RP will be Chaos Marines, or we'll bump into a couple of marines, I actually custom made my own Guardsmen, if you wanna see him I could send you a link, but you'd have to register to see him, infact this Guardsmen has no ties to my regiment(made him to be stand alone)

infact, one thing I'm allowing is the ability to become a Hunter(any class allowed) you go on the hunt for creatures to bring them for a huge bounty alive, they don't pay for dead ones, but Science centers will pay.

what kind of dice does this game use/need because i just bought it and i was like... shit i just realised this game will probably use different dice i dont have (btw i am new to the rpg franchise for warhammer 40k :D )

@redchickenproduction It should tell you in the front of the book, but to answer your question, you need D10 (ten sided dice)

There are 3 types of rolls you will make for the game. d10 rolls mean you roll a d10 (or more) and add the results.Then there are d5's which you roll a d10, divide the roll in half and round up.

Finally, there is the d100. you roll 2 d10's and pick one to be the tens digit and one to be the one's digit

Why not playing a human freelancer and then make a crew out of everything you fucking want. Imperium is huge. Some planets don't even know that Imperium exists.

@OrdoMallius there is no point in introducing an average-class heroes in an epic/impossible universum. That's the type of universum you have here, you are either a big hero or a zero. Freelancers that would play on planets that "didn't know imperium exist" could just as easly be turned into cyberpunk or any other system.

why must imperium stay a secret? It can be a plot twist at some point. Story can have potential. For example he get's to transport some cargo and it turns out that it's something important and then the Inquisition get's on his ass because of it or something. My point is there is a lot of room for it. Hell add some interesting crew (some of them can be alien) and you have a great settings.

@OrdoMallius because that really would sell as 40k mark :P Listen to me, it makes as little sense as making a pokemon based rpg, where you play a gardener and half way thru you maybe see a pokemon instead of an animal. It is not profitable and iconic to the series. Thanks for the well balance arguent and I know what you mean, but there are too many other RPG that are based on the kind of stuff you mentioned. WH40k = power, war, heresy etc. WH40k is not mass effect

@ArchArturo If you look, he has a symbol of chaos on his shoulder. Many of the Imperial Guard when left alone on a planet will become subject to Ruinous Powers and turn to Chaos. Sometimes they have to be taught a lesson, lol.

I'm not too excited about this one. Rouge Trader and Inquisitor are mere humans, with real flaws and limitations. If they use the fiction (as opposed to the miniature game limitations) to do this I can't see how it is going to be much of a challenge. It takes an entire eldar/tyranid/tau/guard/ork/cu­ltist platoon to take on a handful of space marines, the only thing that really challenges them are daemons and other space marines. Its like why nobody wants to play against a "Movie Marine" army.
