With Buffy and Angel, that same love actually tortures both of them and keeps them apart, even though there love is stronger than any other force. Joss Whedon is, quite simply, a more talented writer than Stephanie Meyer. He is a master of dialogue and character development, and Meyer is not. That being said, both series suffer from their fair share of teen drama as a central plot element. The difference being that Buffy outgrew hers, while Bella's entire character is focused on it.
I had to come listen to this because my friend kept trying to tell me that Soothsayer by Buckethead was the buffy theme song. Umm, NO!!!!! It's not! This songs nice, but if you've heard soothsayer, soothsayers older, way better, longer, more intense ect. This songs still alright.
I hate Zander Harris, he almost made the show not worth watching. He's not funny, always gots something smart to say and gets laid the f... out every single episode in a fight. Glad he lost his eye in the last show. The whole Warren gang was lame too.

@ronki23 Sure, Edward and Angel are both vampires (if it were up to me, Edward wouldn't be counted as one, but whatever), and Jacob and Oz are both werewolves. But you can't compare them just because they're the same species, or both happen to be in a couple. The plots are completely different, and like @wordsandmusic said, Buffy actually has meaning. Plus, it's hee-larious!

I hate Zander Harris, he almost made the show not worth watching. He's not funny, always gots something smart to say and gets laid the f... out every single episode in a fight. Glad he lost his eye in the last show. The whole Warren gang was lame too.

So Guys I just want to say ONE thing about buffy and twilight
Twilight is this generations Buffy, The love triangle, the girl falling in love with the vampire etc... ( I know buffy didnt have sparkly vampires or werewolfs but its not like its exactly alike) So let the kids like what they like

@AlexxLikesKiwi Twilight and Buffy are completely different. Twilight promotes patriarchy. Bella worships Edward and can't fend for herself. Buffy is strong (not just physically) and has an actual personality. Buffy empowers girls. Twilight tells them that it's okay to let a guy do the fighting for them. Twilight is brainless. Stephanie Meyer clearly needs lessons in character and plot development. In Buffy, everything is a metaphor or symbol. You can't say that Buffy is remotely like Twilight.

@wordsandmusic93 Agreed. Twilight may calim to have vampiers, but vampiers do not sparkle in the sun unless they are about to turn to ash. But Stephanie Meyer admited when she first started making the twilight saga she didn't know anything about vampiers other then they drink blood. But once more, Twlight is just fairies trying to be vampiers. and the two are so diffrent. Buffy is amazing and empowers girls (and sometimes boys like me). While twilight tells girls to let the guy do everything...

@ronki23 Sure, Edward and Angel are both vampires (if it were up to me, Edward wouldn't be counted as one, but whatever), and Jacob and Oz are both werewolves. But you can't compare them just because they're the same species, or both happen to be in a couple. The plots are completely different, and like @wordsandmusic said, Buffy actually has meaning. Plus, it's hee-larious!
Sorry if you're on my side, I just jumped in from nowhere! But even so, this is for everyone who tries to compare them!

@gorguzzcat but remember, Angel and Edward were the sensitive,serious type and it's all about forbidden love between different species. I am sure they must have borrowed X% from Buffy and the rest from Romeo and Juliet (which Buffy also did)

BtVS and Angel need some rediscovering. Rarely do you find shows with so much humour, horror and heart with great characters and stories to boot.

The thing about Buffy that stands out is that it goes far beyond all the vampire/mystical stuff on the show. The show is about emotion, as Joss Whedon once said. About love, relationships between characters, and such. And all that emotion is so real, and that automatically makes it better then anything else on the telly. And that's the thing about Buffy, emotion, and not all the insane supernatural things on the show that don't even exist.
