Some may say it's an outdated 20 page document that needs replacing. @Diosibundo they went with two houses to give the people and the states equal footing in law making. The House members where according to population and voted in by the people. This was done during the Ratification Convention for the Federalists that wanted more power for government, the larger States received more voting power. The Senate was to be two members per state, making all the states equal not more powerful by size, and Senator's were selected by the State legislators. Hope this helps

It is a contract between: the States, the founders (through their insider legal establishments of those incorporated States), and the king of England. The constitution itself was not signed by any human, it was only signed "In witness" on behalf of the States. Some may say it's an outdated 20 page document that needs replacing. Well, if that's the case then it what else could handle 2 World wars, a civil war, manage the greatest armed forces in the world, an economy of trillions and sadly but still shows power in just 20 pages to handle the US national debt.
Some of those things noted above are meant to take apart those 20 pages. That document's power was designed for WE THE PEOPLE if we use it wisely or blindly.

@Diosibundo they went with two houses to give the people and the states equal footing in law making. The House members where according to population and voted in by the people. This was done during the Ratification Convention for the Federalists that wanted more power for government, the larger States received more voting power. The Senate was to be two members per state, making all the states equal not more powerful by size, and Senator's were selected by the State legislators. Hope this helps

Padelford, Fay & Co. v. The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah, [14 Georgia 438, 520]. This was a Court case wherein the Plaintiffs sued the City of Savannah for violating what they believed were their constitutionally-protected rights.
The decision of the Judge says it all: "But indeed, no private person has a right to complain, by suit in Court, on the ground of a breach of the Constitution, the Constitution, it is true, is a compact but he [the private person] is not a party to it!"
