  • P.S. Looks like Brian did a very good job.

  • @Desertphile He did. But I forgot to cover the optional framing that goes at the bottom. That is covered in the next video.

  • I hope we get to see the Aljo after it has been painted.

  • @Desertphile You will.

  • Bummer about the front metal buckling. I assume there is a vapor barrier behind it.

  • @Desertphile Yes...

  • Mine did that in the rear right at the bottom. I just put in more screws.

  • @cheapswede Well now I know what causes it so I have to get busy today and post the next video because I was able to fix it.

  • THANKS LARRY , WOULD HAVE MISSED ALL YOUR GREAT STUFF AND SKILL AND I USE IT FOR ALL MY SO CALLED HANDY WORK , WILL NEVER REACH YOUR LEVEL OF CRAFTSMANSHIP BUT YOU HAVE HELPED ME ALONG A HUGE ROAD , SO FAR FOLLOWING YOUR GUIDANCE I,M GETTING THERE , AND YES I DO FOLLOW YOUR ADVICE ALL THE WAY SLOW AND EASY ONE THING AT A TIME , HOW,S THE WESTERNER COMING ALONG ?

  • @sabresierra Oh the poor Westerner is still sitting there untouched but I do camp in it. The inside is pretty nice now but she needs a paint job bad. Maybe this spring I can get a coat of paint on her. The website should be back up tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know as I haven't been there today.

  • HI LARRY , WENT YOUR WEB SITE TO FOLLOW UP ON SOME OTHER VIDEOS AND IT SAYS IT HAS EXPIRED , WILL YOU BE SETTING IT UP AGAIN

  • @sabresierra Yes I renewed it today. I don't know why they don't give you any notice on these things. Stupid internet...

  • Exactly what I was thinking as you were showing and describing the buckling. It buckled because the sides were fastened down first, and there was too much metal in between them. If he hadn't actually forced it and crinkled it, I think he could've taken the sides loose, then started at the center and worked his way out, and *then* fastened the sides.

Nice to see someone doing this much learning and knowing that your videos inspired it.

  • You explained it very well. Having been an aircraft sheet metal worker I knew exactly what had happened. Center first then the edges.

  • @johnnnyreb51 Oh thanks so much for your inpur Johhnyreb. You know, for me some of this stuff is not yet an exact science and I must remind people that I am not an expert at all this. It is so good when a professional steps in and let's me know I'm on the right track or if I'm doing things wrong or if I could do them better. Found that out with the tile when a floor tile specialist chimed in and gave me some great tips. Thanks again for your input.

  • Oh! I am glad I got to see this video... I was about to do that same mistake... Wheuuu...!

nice job inside, can't wait to see it with pain..

  • @pixotee2007 Oh then Im glad I made it. I get my metal for the Shasta at the end of Feb so look for a very detailed how to video then. Sorry I can't do it earlier for you but you do get the idea. That trick will save you headaches.
