I loved that show thankyou for putting this on I cant stop waching these clips. I remember they would even show in clubs and the music would stop then after a scene the music would pump. Those were the days. Sable, Crystal and Alexis they'll never be others like them.

What comes after this finale? Ha! That's an easy question to answer. NOTHING!!! Nothing happens after this scene, except the Dynasty Reunion movie that appears two years after the finale. But I were you I wouldn't even bother trying to find it or watch it because it doesn't tie up any of the storylines in this scene. Hell, Sable and Monica aren't even mentioned in the Reunion movie.

So sad to see the end...but thank you so much for all the wonderful Sable moments! I was VERY young when Colbys and Dynasty aired, but I adored Stephanie Beacham in seaQuest (I wanted to be her when I grew up, well, an oceanographer at least). And she was my parents' favorite character on both shows. I loved seeing her play Sable! Thanks for the videos!

Sad to say, but this show really concluded on a very sad note. Sure Sable was in the last season, but it could not save this horrid ending.

Granted I do love Dynasty, but this conclusion as well as the reunion was awful on a level that is beneath most people. Now give this comment a positive or negative mark, it's true. The conclusion to Dynasty was terrible. It was rushed, no plot holes were covered. It was just all bad. The only good thing was Sable and Alexis. I will say this: I'll miss it!

i agree 100% i have said with all these '90210" & 'melrose place" spinoffs it would have been great if someone green lit a "dynasty: the next generation" spinoff! you could have the kids of fallon, steven, adam, jackie, amanda, kristina, etc. and anchor it around one of the orginal cast members and die hard fans would eat it up! :) oh i would love to write that show...ABC call me! lol

The series finale of "Dynasty" titled "Cache 22" aired on Thursday, May 11, 1989. It was the show's 220th hour and it ended its 9th and final season. "Dynasty" had not been canceled by ABC prior to production of this episode, for which reason the series ends with an unresolved cliffhanger. In fact, the network only confirmed the expected cancellation of "Dynasty" when it formally announced its fall 1989 schedule, on Tuesday, May 23, 1989 - 12 days after this episode aired.

Many expected Dynasty's demise due to its hideous ratings. The show fell from 33rd to 57th place in the course of the 9th season, although the new ultra-competitive time slot - Thursdays at 9 - was primarily to blame for that. Some press however reported in the weeks prior to its cancellation that ABC was still considering bringing it back for a 10th season, as the show was still doing better than anything else the network put in that time slot which had been a black hole for ABC for many years.

Had the show continued, Joan Collins and Michael Nader would have supposedly left the series, although Collins did say in press she was open to making several special guest appearances. Stephanie Beacham had however already been cast in NBC's upcoming sitcom "Sister Kate", while John Forsythe - who was affected by co-star Linda Evans' departure - was said to have been very reluctant to continue. These were just some of the reasons why ABC ended the series.

One of the few reasons "Dynasty" had been renewed for its 9th season, despite falling from 1st to 33rd place in the course of only 3 years, was that its merchandising business was still bringing in significant revenues. In 1987, "Krystle Forever" and "Carrington" perfumes alone pulled in over 40 million dollars. Plus, there was still a lot of money in international syndication of the show. And, as noted above, even at its worst, the show was doing better than other ABC Thursday night shows.

The ghastly "Reunion" miniseries which aired in 1991 failed to tie up loose ends from season 9. We never learn the fate of Sable Colby and her baby, but we do see that Alexis has survived and become successful in fashion business, while Dex Dexter "did not fare too well" - whatever that means.

@LBColby I remember watching DYNASTY when it aired on FX on reruns. I started when they were already on the 9th season, so imagine my shock when they started with the 1st season all over again. I was so excited to finally watch the reunion in hopes of watching them tie up the lose ends. Alas, the reunion was such a mess. I don't know that I've ever watched the whole thing all the way through because it was so terrible. I never understood why they didn't get Stephanie or Michael back.
