In order to do this song right I think you need to sing it a little more relaxed and conservatively. You put to much flare into it it ruins the feeling of the song.
someone should tell Billie Joe he belongs on that stage .. he looks withdrawn in this video, as if he feels sheepish and undeserving to be in the midst of such greatness ..
maybe i'm way over-analyzing this, but if i'm not someone really needs to tell Mr Armstrong:
"you are elite .. you've not only earned the right to be on that stage, you're capable (and deserving) of owning it!!"
well it was mediocre performance, overdid as it's usual in cases like this BUT Steven Tyler (tho I'm not a big Asmith fan) was really, really good! Best of the lot! I'd love to hear his rendition of an entire song some day...
thats not david bowie the guy w the red pinkish hair is the lead singer for stone temple pilots but during the grammys back then he was with velvet revolver which explains why duff and slash are there too
They coulda used bono, steven tyler, norah jones, and is that david bowie? (I think so)...Everyone else has no reason to be up there...Just no the kind of song some of those people should be singing.
well.. i might be wrong.. but i think that was kind of the point lol
they're not singing this because its the kind of song they should be singing, but i think the producers or organizers or whatever of the grammys was trying to demonstrate unity between all the different genres, by putting up diverse artists from different genres.
lol too many contrasting styles in one song... i didnt like it much. it seemed kinda make shift, like they just told them to sing it there on the spot. too many players trying to stand out makes it sound like crap. its the simplicity of Beatle songs that make them great.
I love basically all the people up there, but i'm ashamed that they all didn't know the words to the song. Messing up lyrics and notes... not cool if you're going to do a Beatles tribute for the world. They need to KNOW THE SONG!
Well, I gotta say they did a great job getting people together for this. Slash.. Bono.. Didn't need that many singers though. It's kinda lame to have all of those people only singing a few lines before the chorous at the end. Not all of their voices go well here either.
This is probably the best 240p video out there.
