Boy, Strongtuit, that's a mighty belligerent post on a forum that doesn't allow direct debate. Yes, the President can pardon or commute any federal conviction she/he wishes, but there are also questions of the morality of pardons and commutations and flagrant political gain from the use of those constitutional mechanisms. I recall people of many stripes being angered by President Clinton's pardons as well.
