He's using a guitar pedal (the same one John uses for the song), which is a much different then most pedals out there. It's a beat-sync effects pedal that loops, splices, chops, filters, much more, etc. What you play is not what comes out verbatim. This is not fake.

I have an adrenalin 3 and on preset 150 u could strum the strings and it would arpeggiate that series in sync with the drums somehow the vid is fucked up but i take it you own one and that is your audio from the setup in which your playing people have faith in the talent of this youtuber jeez

no the Adrenalinn III is from rogerlinn design and yes its the sequencer john mayer uses when he performs. For some reason he is just playing sustained chords (makes me wanna think the vid is having sync problems or its aud/vid is all mismatched!!!)

If you're gonna load a video, at least really play it...the strums aren't matching up, and you're not doing the hammer ons and pull offs, plus you take your hands off and it's still playing. I'm a guitarist, so I'm not just talking out my ass like most people on youtube do..
