same here:) another type 1~ Breaking bones was a routine thing for me when i was a kid... but yea, as i grow older it gets better... I'm 20 now...

but i still need to be very cautiuos

Im type 1 too, for some reason i tend to break my femur bone more often than any other bone. man they hurt!

Does anyone else with type 1 OI have a larger ribcage than normal?

Also.. My son was born with OI and he has had around 12 broken bones, I keep him in doors a lot playing a online game called EverQuest. My Mom has OI and she had me and my little sister both have OI. My Mom's mother has OI also, my grandma she can't hear and has suffered a lot in her old age. We all have type1. My grandma gave birth to my Mom and 2 sons that have this disease and has had 2 babys die at birth from this also very sad.

I have OI type 1 and I have had over 20 broken bones my mom lost count. I had most of my broken bones when I was a baby to I got about into my teen age years. As a adult I have had a few broken bones and a ACL Reconstruction.

I have OI! My dad as well, we have type 3. It's actually not as rare as they are making it out. About 1 out of 25,000 people are born with it. But it's not common either, no tellathons for us!!

I to have the IO, I've had over 100breaks/fractures and I'm 23. It is so sad that not many people know about it, or have even heard of it. So is this a clip from a movie or a tv show or what? And how can I see more???

You know whats even sadder? That all the time OI is mistaken for child abuse. I did this big reasearch paper on it last year.
