Nice to see this again with the music 'borrowed' from the 1950 film 'Destination Moon' composed by Leith Stevens. It does deviate from the books (why I don't know) but is still enjoyable.
Pity they didn't include the Professor Calculus Amnesia 'sketch'. The bit where Captain Haddock says 'Who could be afraid of a snake going Phhhht' is really funny
I hate how these are dumbed down to be more kid friendly. The comics had a lot more peril. Alcohol wasn't even an issue; both Tintin and Haddock enjoyed an occasional spirit. There were gun battles and car crashes and constant danger. I read these comics as a kid and grew up juuuuust fine. It drives me crazy how much these cartoons deviate from the comics for the sake of sensitive audiences. The 90's cartoon wasn't much better, either.
Captain Haddock's feet would've been damaged when he was in orbit, and how the hell could the wick of the dynamite have been lit if there's no oxygen!?
LOL I love how they just state the obvious all the time! Blistering barnacles, it's Tintin! He's blacked out! He's wearing a spacesuit! I have a beard! Today is Monday!
I had to check out elsewhere to see this particular adventure was actually produced at Larry Harmon's studio in the US in particular, and directed by Paul Fennell, the stories afterwards were done by Belvision instead, but quite interesting how the arrangement was handled.
In spite of not finding the original 5 minute episodes, this was still exciting to see. And from your comments and description, you seem to be a Tintinologist.
@pastorkevin52 I don't mind seeing them in this fashion myself since you don't have to have the start 'n stop mentality going in and out of the adventure the way it was originally seen as the 5 minute installments (in the US, Crusader Rabbit was once made available in this fashion as either 5 minute cartoons or an entire compilation episode for each adventure).
A thousand thanks for posting this Tintin adventure. It is my all time favorite. I've hunted all over to find a copy but, all originals have been destroyed. In spite of the fact that the plot is outdated, it was still exciting to watch after all of these years. Great to hear the voices of Paul Frees, and Larry (Bozo The Clown) Harmon.

@pastorkevin52 Tintin's definitely being voiced by Harmon here. In other adventures he was voiced by Dal McKennon.
