I really enjoyed this documentary. It's fascinating, a bit sad sometimes, and really funny. It would be easy to be prejudiced about such a subject, but it just is absurd, astonishing, and profoundly human.
@Tanguynew08 Thank you so very much for watching, and thanks even more so for your kind words. It took over two years to make- we tried to sell it to HBO and Discovery/Animal Planet, but HBO is producing much more important and serious work- honor is due to Sheila Nevins- and Animal Planet is only running in-house series productions. We entered it into the NY Indep. Film & Video Festival, and even tried selling DVDs on Amazon, but with limited success! What can you do? :)
@soapbxprod I'm so surprised about the fact you couldn't sell it to some channels in US. It's such a surprising subject, so well done. What a gallery of portraits... in the human and animal species... And so much work. Hope something is going to come out of it...
@Tanguynew08 Oh, thanks! I was listening to public radio today and apparently someone has just made a doc about show dogs... maybe some of that publicity might rub off!
@kingkurry YES! And her sweet lion "Ego" passed over the rainbow bridge a few months after we lensed them... Ms. LeBow must be a terrific psychotherapist!
@flyezilla Thanks very very much for your kind compliment! Poor Scooter the Pomeranian... the self-proclaimed "behavioral therapist" was a joke. He knew NOTHING! We actually interviewed him at his home- never used it in the movie- and he was being visited by the British woman who stars in the series "It's Me or the Dog" on Animal Planet! Apparently he didn't learn very much!
@soapbxprod Hi Flyezilla! You are 100% correct. I'm Scooter's Mommy, Sue Vreeland, & I can assure you he has received nothing but love and cuddles his whole life. He will be 13 in March & is still acts like a rambunctious little man-but that's what gives him so much personality. That therapist was a complete kook! Trust me, if he had touched my baby they would have had to rate the video "R" for the level of violence I would have unleashed upon him:) Thanks for your comments! Hi Carole & Luke!

@mommy2pommy Hi Sue! How are you? Hope that all is going well!
This is so terrific that you found us here on YouTube- please don't hesitate to contact us if you'd like a finished DVD copy, and a lapel button matching the DVD cover. We have lots of them left from our promotional campaign.
@BalticSeaChris Isn't it insane? They're treated like spoiled Park Avenue children! And the parents work so many hours and never see their dogs, so the dogs bond with the "nannies"! LOL!
@caterpillargirl84 All original music written for us by Tim Cappello- an old and dear friend. He was Tina Turner's sax and keyboard player in the 80s. Just Google his name!
@kabloozie You glad you liked it, dear! We are die hard dog lovers- I'm an only child, and my fiancée and I are childless and in our 50s... except for our Bulldog Igor! LOL
@ozbrad Thnk you so very much! Took us two years to make- couldn't sell it to Animal Planet- they're doing everything in house! Still looking for a distributor!
@soapbxprod Lady ex-newscaster who started Animal Planet, is from a city I am glad to have left. :) She was in a similar position you were in. That's why she started her own Animal Planet.
So maybe a suggestion from me. Start a channel called "Going to the Dogs." What the heck, make it an internet channel. :)
@Glinkaism1 Thank you! That is a wonderful idea! We offered this doc, completely finished and produced with our own money, to Discovery Networks and HBO- they turned it down! We then tried to distribute DVDs made by Disc Makers on Amazon- and it barely sold. Can't figure out why... Please Google and iMDB us- Carole Langer and Luke Sacher- we've been making docs for 30 years!
@soapbxprod And get dog foot companies all other doggy goods mfrs to sponsor you. Sell them commercials in the program. Personally, I wouldn't put a commercial at the head of the program like people do here on YouTube. It's annoying. Instead make start like a regular TV show that people are used to. Keeping that format, have the intro go something like this--
CUTE TITLE: "IT'S A DOG'S WORLD" & CREDITS
VO/NARR: It's A Dogs World brought to you by Big Woof Dog food."
@Glinkaism1 We have no power of decision with YouTube and Google AdSense- They actually have the nerve to give us one tenth of a penny per click! We are in the process of negotiating a better distribution and advertising deal with Hulu and Netflix- right now, this is the only deal that we have! Great suggestions from you- we DO MOST SINCERELY appreciate your thoughts!
@tozzarozza Thank YOU! We pitched it to them- they're doing everything in house. We shot the woman who hosts It's Me or the Dog- she didn't make the cut! What does THAT tell you? LOL I think that Lisa Simpson recently said, "Did you know that no one at the Discovery Channel is actually paid anything?" Like the VIACOM of old- no one over thirty making over thirty!
Having grown up in NYC, I think this is a wonderful portrait of New Yorkers and their dogs - what a wonderful idea! New Yorkers wear their hearts on their sleeves and you can really see this through their relationships with their canine companions. Delightful!!!

Great documentary. Shame about the pomeranian; hitting and 'dominance' is not the way to treat fear aggression.
