This is a great local use of used or reject tires that would otherwise be destined for landfill or shipped over to China for recycling projects there. Awesome. We used tires in our eco hut project and got Jonathan to teach us the best way to ram tires. A great result. We love earth ship Brighton.
I still don't know why cans and bottles considered waste here (recycled glass and aluminum cost much less energy then new making new ones)... And why do you want tyres and so creating a market of a product (2nd hand tyres) you don't want to have as an unused product (new tires) in the first place. I like the concept of the earthship very much but i don't like the materials. I'm looking for an alternative. I'm considering rammed earth...
