Last time I checked there were an awful lot of black people at LSU- in the student body, on the football team, and in the band.

HBCU Bands are very entertaining, but they aren't on the same planet as LSU. LSU has one of the finest schools of music anywhere and a tradition that few bands in the country can rival.

Of course, I prefer the Auburn band ;-) and in my biased opinion think it's the best in the deep south, but these guys certainly make an equally strong claim to that title.

Because of racism, music has been the only salvation to express ourselves without retribution from Whites. This is also our connection with Africa - our homeland. So the music is rooted in Africa not America. Respecting other cultures is really important to begin to change racism.

WOW....PErsonally I think it is awsome how core style bands are trying something new. I wish my school would play some cool songs like this( I attend UCA by the way GO BEARS!!!!).
