wish someone would make a small drift car!! Like REEEEEEEALL small and just enough sized to be a little confortable (neat seat with small suspensionswould do the trick xD
For everyone who is interested in this car you should search "BBR shark". The shark is a homebuilt car in my area. My a-mod was a very simple build that most could duplicate but the shark is quite a bit more sophisticated. Another great local build is the "hemi challenger". I know both of these cars and they are great. They are both on you-tube.
The engine was a salvaged gsxr 600 air/oil cooled motor. The brakes, wheel uprights, bolt pattern and driveshafts are first gen MR2 salvaged. The shocks, seat, steering wheel and springs were used. David Stam in detroit built it originally.I modified it. It has been sold for a few years now and someone else is currently playing with it.
steel tubeing, a welder, an engine, and imagination (oh, and throw a little bit of mechanical knowledge into that too.. though it's not that important :p)
Those aren't the parts that I would worry about, it's suspension geometry, throttle linkages, and steering precision that would stop me, and most people, from doing something like this without killing themselves. Engineering a precision double A-arm suspension, and building it from scratch, without any sort of milling machine must be a pain in the ass! Not to mention how time consuming it must be! However with a parts list and plans, then sure, THEN it would be like Legos.
no milling machiene needed actually (unless your really looking to race with top noch people) but if it's for recreational you can weld yourself toghether a pretty decent induvidual suspension setup and use cheep car struts from the scrapyard. or if it's light enough I've heard of people using those gas cylinders usually used to keep car boots open.
I spent less than $4000 total including building and driving for a couple seasons. everything was purchased used including tires. i sold the car for $3600
i ONLY SAID it is on ebay for 1 mio dollars. i NEVER said its a good price because i DONT sell it its not mine! the owner sells it for 1 mio dollars. i think its a fucking stupid price too dont call me retarded
