  • Methodical and calm. Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu in action.

  • Man Tavares is legit but Saulo dominated the whole time. This isn't a knock on Tavares in any way. It just shows how dominant Saulo is and why he is a legend.

  • Man, if I could learn to be that calm. Just bought his book, Jiu Jitsu University.

  • Two masters of the sport

  • Renato is amazing. Losing to Saulo who was something like 8 years younger and a 6 times world champ and at least 50 pounds heavier is nothing to be ashamed of. Renato is a great teacher and a an amazing BJJ athlete,

  • Renato is an absolute beast but Saulo looked like he is on a whole new level. Renato is a really good and legit black belt, he just didn't look like it here. I would love to train at a Ribeiro school. Props to both competitors.

  • Omg. The calm with which he approaches another black belt is amazing. Reminds me of rickson Gracie in pride. Not even remotely worried. If saulo comes up as your next opponent just do yourself a favor and get in your car and drive off as fast as u can. At :20 seconds in he's wiping his dang face off lime he's rolling with his grandmother or a newborn baby. saulo u are the man. Going out to buy jiujitsu university RIGHT NOW because of this video.

  • That was sick,.!@$&'

  • I'm terrified of Saulo.

  • Awesome respect at the end.

  • What is the weight differences between Renato and Saulo? Both guys are really good at what they do. Renato is truly a fighter.

  • I've rolled with Renato, too. The guy is incredible. Saulo is huge, young and highly skilled. It's a testament to Renato's skill that he lasted as long s he did against a much bigger, stronger, younger and heavier opponent.

  • @ vincespell. You act like Renato is 20 yrs old. Heis in his mid 40's. @CLUB8U, the art is not about size, but when you get to the level of their's. 60 lbs makes a huge difference... If anyone doubts Renato's ability, you should roll with him for 5 mins. He will make you want to quit every second. I know from experience. He is one of the most skilled people ive ever been on the mat with and a great teacher at that..

  • Patience is a virtue.. Saulo is the man

  • what a beautiful match...

  • LOL was that Bus Rutten in the blue Gi?

  • I can beat both of them

  • both pros

  • renatos also over 40 and hes like 5,5! He deserves credit!

  • I notice I have a similar style to Saulo's. Now, I am nowhere near as good, don't get me wrong, it's like saying A pair of Walmart Chinos are the same STYLE as an awesome pair of Ralph Lauren trausers, but I think I will emulate more of my game after him, he's big, and I'm big, not really too tall or long legged though, I'm going to work some of these passes and guard play.

  • In his younger days saulo would have smashed him in the same way but quicker and with more brutality. In his younger days this match would have been a minute tops

  • Saulo is the MAN!

  • Give Renato some credit...he's like 60 lbs less.

  • 0:58 aweesome

  • @Ben018 My thoughts exactly! I love his patience and how he makes it look so effortless. Just another day at the office for Saulo.

  • nice gi choke

  • Love Saulo's face in the beginning, he's just chillin'

  • @Fabyfakid that is what about to say. lol. saulo is a king!

  • @Fabyfakid Exactly. When you see someone that relaxed, it makes the other guy look like a white belt as they try to explode with quick, jerky, muscled movements. It's pure technique vs muscle and speed. This video is a perfect example of which is better. The other guy will lose to superior technique, and typically, whenever he faces someone with similar technical ability, but who is also stronger, faster, or more explosive. That aggressive style defeats the whole point of BJJ - IMHO.

  • knee on the belly for the choke, he used perfect basic combination

  • saulo is the man and well the best

  • that high five at the end was pretty bad ass hahah

  • did u guys ever stop to think maybe the other guy is just small??????

  • @CLUB8U the art is not supposed to be about size though? and beside i've seen saulo fight a bigger guy and win, so no shame in beating a smaller guy and winning either :P

  • @JKT6 ofcourse not....... no shame at all!

  • @CLUB8U :)

  • why is saulo so big, he usually fights at medio-pesado?!

  • Saulo is the man! So talented so humble.

  • omg... saulo made that look so easy. To Renato's defense... Saulo outweighed him by more than 30 pounds (maybe even more)

  • relentless patience.

  • good fight

  • Saulo looks HUGE

  • Saulo's a tank! He'll take the Ultra-HW this year.
