Yeah good point, lol. I did put a QM on the end. I forget that I am old codga now. Pissa though how the traffic is passing and the Kingswood that pulled up there bum. The real audio would of been something like "get orf the road ya bludgers, struth elsa....bloody hippies".@djremix2006
@hardballget I fear Getting Old, I don't want people wiping My ass for me Too soon And be stuck eating food that tastes like shit, I just can't handle that Kind of thing, I would hate to think of what I would be like if i was Old.
Fair suck of the old sauce bottle there Charlie, I ain't that old. We can all have opinions too but to show repugnant disrespect to all elders is a bit low, plus it was not even funny. Have a nice day :D@djremix2006
I did not know that song existed until I heard on the radio a Kiwi called the radio station in my area weeks back when the song In The Summertime is mentioned. I learn something every day.
@diamondgeezer49 Had a bet with some bloke at work some years ago. He swore that this was Mungo Jerry and I knew it was the Mixtures because I had the single. The bloody idiot still didn't believe me, so I took the 45 into work. Got a fiver out of him lol There's one born every minute.
Apart from the clothes the hair and the streets, did you notice the cars!!!! Those beautiful old Fords and Holdens and Valiants, the two HT Taxi's and the XR Falcon 500 Taxi, cool, and the XW Fords on the highway. Hows the beautifully new and classy VIP Valiant sedan in the main street! And yes I know the chick on the bike is gorgeous and songs great, but those cars, the EK wagon and FC and FB's, did ya see 'em? Cars with character and style, not like modern stuff, fast but no class.
Yes indeed, marvelous looking cars and to see them sparkling new was awesome. I think there is one blue Valiant with mags that looks primo just after the parked VW but I could not get a good pause on it.@OlBlueshound
We danced to this song for our class performance infront of the whole school when i was in year 1 (when i was 7, eleven years ago). I was dressed up as the sun and went down when it said "when the sun goes downn". Here comes nostalgia .. worst feeling EVER.
They used to play at the Dianella Hotel in Perth in the mid seventies, they had a great stage act with a version of Ray Stevens Along came Jones with one of the group dressing up as a sheila and being rescued from the railroad tracks.Good night out, cover charge got drunk and shouted a few for about $20.I think one of the band-possibly the lead singer drowned at Trigg Beach in 1976/77 and didn`t hear of them after that.
I remember hearing this song on the radio in Germany, when I was a kid. Surprising to find out 40 years later that I am suddenly only living an hour's drive away from where they shot this.
@davidsan01 Yes, I know it was a joke. I'm sorry if I didn't come across that way to you. It is just Some people( I am not one of them.) Think What I wrote is okay.to say on TV. Happy Thanks Thansgiving!
I think it was in Melbourne when the population was half of what it is today. Hence why they can ride without helmets, no 4WD idiots, yahoos, yobbos and skinheads - they came later. Bring back crackers.
The opening scene is riding along Beach Rd/Beaconsfield Parade up from Elwood and past the St Kilda Marina (where Riva Bar is). The second part is riding along Beaconsfield Parade after Catani gardens and towards Middle Park. Then the bridge they go over is the Kingsway bridge (before the casino covered it). And the Hotel Australia they cycle by in the CBD is where the Novotel now is in Collins st.
Its the St Kilda foreshore along Beach Road (between Luna Park and Elwood Canal). That is St Kilda Marina in the background in the opening scene with where Riva bar is now).
This was the first record my sisters and I bought in 1971. We had just got our first radiogram (showing my age there!) and this was all over the radio. Big hit in the UK, spent something like 5 weeks at number 2 without ever hitting the top, I think it was My Sweet Lord and Baby Jump that stopped it getting there. Nice clip.
Finally the actual video instead of the stupid daisy daisy one!

Always seemed like a rip off of Mungo Jerry's "in the Summertime'.
We all thought so at the time but copying overseas acts was a common practice in Australia at the time.
Nice to see Melbourne before it go so choked up though.
