I was there in Chandler Arizona in 1980 when he a R.L Osborne first performed there stunts on a half pipe. I was only 15 then and it was amazing watching them do tricks....I'm 44 now and I must say I am proud that I was able to be there when he started his freestyle career in BMX. What are you talking about. There was only coaster brake back then, no freecoaster where you can switch back and forth. Haro is riding coaster brake which almost everyone did back then. Even in the early to mid 80's people rode good ol' coaster brake, Tony Murray, Maurice Meyer, Ron Wilkerson just to name a few. This is many years before you were born and never seen these guys ride in real life.

During the height of this "sport" for geeks and nerds in 1983 I was racing 16X and we would have around 90 people in our class alone at Nationals.

Christ! I found this by accident. I gave up freestyle 20 years ago when I was 18 cause I thought I was getting old, and now I find there's blokes my age still riding. yeah it may look lame and boring. but look at motor racing tennis boxing football that probably looks lame compared to todays standards. But without the old days we wouldnt have the new days. These vids bring back memories even though down here in oz we never saw any vision at the time but BMX Action and BMX Plus made up for it. good 2 c..

During the height of this "sport" for geeks and nerds in 1983 I was racing 16X and we would have around 90 people in our class alone at Nationals.

So times move on and maybe it doesnt look so rad nowadays, but he started it all, and look at most of the new bmx bikes... Dull isnt the word, they're so drab its depressing. I own a 1984 skyway T/A, a 1984 Gen2 Haro Freestyler Master, a 2006 Haro old school sport and a 1978 Raleigh Chopper Mk2 prismatic and I wouldnt sell a single one of them...

Christ! I found this by accident. I gave up freestyle 20 years ago when I was 18 cause I thought I was getting old, and now I find there's blokes my age still riding. To hell with what my misses and kids say, i'm getting out my dusty 'March Badlander' and going to the local ramp. (when the kids are at school of course, incase I fall apart).

This takes me back to '84. I actually had the video - it's called 'BMX Lightnening Wheels'. The video got nicked when burglars stole my Mum & Dads VCR with the video inside!!!! Buggers!!! All looks at bit tame now, but at the time Bob ruled. I ended up being the proud owner of a fully customised Haro Sport (Dominguez)which cost a fortune back in '84 purchased from Faze 7. Ahh, the good old days.
