  • It looks nice, funny idea, but it looks is if the fsh do not have enough oxigen

  • A fish-hobbyist friend of mine says that in the close-up shots, you can see that the fish are breathing heavily, suggesting that the water is not being circulated enough. Also, fish often swim close to the surface to get more air. So they collect at the top of the tower, unable to figure out that in this case it won't help.

At night time, the water cools and sinks downwards. The convection circulates the water, allowing the fish to escape the tower.

  • I wonder what the world looks like to them.

  • That is ingenious!

  • Proof of evolution! They all want to see whats outside the pond!

  • would the water in the tower stay aerated? physics is confusing.

  • @kerflop I think the fish will stir it around enough. Though it could get stuffy if they're all up there I guess.

  • I'm going to assume that the tower has been deliberately inserted in such away that it's connected to the pond and the koi can swim in and out of it. That's a lot of fish in a small space. They must really like being able to look around like that.

  • what is this i dont even... how the hell do they keep an open bottom (presumably so the fish can come and go) and a water column that high? only way i can think of is if you plug a vaccum pump on top of the tower and draw the water up...

  • @captainpiccard The tower could have been full of water to being with. Then put a lid on the tower and flip it upside down. The atmospheric pressure would keep the tower full. What I'm more concerned about is how he keeps the tower oxygenated.

  • @bubbledoubletrouble It's not the atmospheric pressure. Watch the video about "Siphon in a Vacuum" by @periodicvideos. :)

  • @bubbledoubletrouble The fish swirl the water and constantly mix it with the rest of the pond.

  • @captainpiccard epic physics fail!

  • @Glitchesarecool - Oh, I meant from the standpoint of them standing on it pointlessly pecking it and crapping all over it. Shoulda said that :)

  • Greetings from the daily what.

  • Curious if algae buildup is an issue? What about birds?

  • can the fish now see in 4D?

  • That is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Curious as to how they did it.

  • So is that the length of "1 bar"?

  • That's really cool! I bet the fish enjoy it too!

  • wie hast du das getan?
