I have Windows Memphis, but whenever I boot it up, it either shows a flashing underscore or it crashes when it says "Starting Windows . . . " I have VPC 2007 under Windows XP SP3.

Hm, I think this will work also in this beta:

When it freeze, restart the PC (CTRL+ALT+DEL); when the setup goes on after the reboot, it tells you that there was a problem scanning the hardwate last time, and it asks, if yu want to scan again or to go on without completed hardware scan.

Yes, it freezes at that phase, I tried to test it. I did that you said (Press CTRL+ALT+DEL) , but it freezes again...

I am trying some builds of Memphis on Virtual PC and VMware and... In VPC the timebomb said that these systems have expired, and in VMware it has some serious problems with drivers (Red Screen of Death...)

In VPC, you just have to enter the BIOS of the Virtual PC and set a date about 12 years ago; my beta worked after that.

dont use VMware for betas or pre-releases. i tried installing Windows NT 5.0 Beta 2 and i ended up with a BSOD! but in Qemu Or virtual PC i never had that problem

Before you use old Windows'es you must set BIOS date to a year which Windows operating systems released!
