i know wes uses mesa boogie dual rectifier, but you see the beginning, the high gain channel, is that how mesa boogie sounds or is that extra effects aswell? coz i want a new amp head but im deciding, pretty sure a mesa boogie, gonna look into randall, but im pretty sure i want a mesa, i know dual rectifier is wat most bands use for such a sick tone, but mark 5 is out now and its supposed to be the shit lol, any comments plz?

rectifiers are one of the besta amps ever especially for this genre. wes used to play those till 2001. but now he uses orange amps. the model is called rockerverb.

really nice amp, too, but i prefered the mesa's

hm it's really hard to say what amp he uses, but it's definitly no mesa. since a while he's using orange, bogner and diezel amps. so it's either the "orange rockerverb", the "diezel vh4" i guess or a bogner . i guess it's the orange right here.

but not shure about effects, sounds like he's using a compressor

and you know the thing is, researching mesa boogie dual rectifiers, these orange amps you said, i hear nothing similar tone compared to wes's :/

well, for clean he always used and uses the roland jc-120. you can see it in every live video. so there's a switch from this amp to another (high gain) amp. about a half year ago i saw wes in a video speaking about the gear. and he told he's using orange rockerverbs. you can get a real heavy sound of those orange amps too.

theres a site online showing his whole rig ya no, but thats a bit outa date, i wanna get the dual rectifier first then ill see if im happy enough lol, actually ill do more research on the dual rectifier, althought im pretty definate i want that one

yeah there are some pages about his rig, but that interview is the most reliable i think.

i also wanna buy a rectifier, but a combo, so it will be the rect-o-verb or the roadking, but they're so damn expensive here in germany. here you pay more than three times as much as in th usa. that sux. and if i import one there are tons of taxes n stuff and it'll be the wrong power supply.

anyways, i'll try one out soon, when i like it, i'll buy it!

im trying to find a shop to test out, randals, mesas, oranges, so far only found marshall seller and i brought marshall jvm410h with full stack cabs

yea, you're right. it's a mesa, but it's lethal's. i don't know why he needs such an amp, but he does have one huge amp head at every show. maybe this is connected to wes, that lee hears him playing better.

or he needs the amp for his effects. maybe he needs a special sound

@dareheaven2 for singsers its a pretty bad idea to rehearse because they have to save their voice for the actual gig to be able to give 100% without backtoughts ... and on a tour this is even more important cause u "sing" shows almost every night
