One thing bothers me about this video: the word "avoidable". Is this to imply that children born with a genetic disorder are nothing more than a difficult handful for their parents, and that their lives should therefore be "avoided" before they even begin? What sort of a people do we become if women start terminating every pregnancy that doesn't look picture perfect? Are centuries of learning to love people, not despite their differences but because of them, about to come to nothing?

@isasz91 Nope. We happen to know more about these diseases in our own population because a lot of geneticists and research MDs happen to be Jewish. Tay Sachs for instance pops up just as often in French Canadians and Cajuns as it does in us, so it's not to say we have more diseases than other people but we have a higher rate for a few specifically, which is generally true of all ethnic groups.
