Just a tip about if you have to sneeze. Look at a bright light and it will make the sneeze come out.. It works for me anyway.. I know its an old wives tale but it does work..

Circumcison is so unnecessary in my opinion..but it is your choice I guess since he can't make his own decision yet.

Concerning the circumsision I would recommend watching the "functions of the foreskin" here on Youtube. We circumsised our son because I let my husband choose, now I regret it.  We are expecting our 3rd (a boy) in May and we are NOT circ.

So, I totally respect your views on circumcision, and especially how you have spent time researching it, and learning about it.

however, I would like to ask you... since you do seem to understand that the health reasons are not justified, and that Ped's advise against it, and that looks/conformity reasons are screwed up... WHAT exactly is your motivation for still considering it?

...You even understand there are thousands of highly specialized nerve endings in the foreskin.

Nothing really....But there have been times where my decision seemed cleared and it all changed the moment my daughter was born. If that makes any sense at all? Some things you just DONT KNOW until they make their big arrival. I don't just mean circumcision either... But for the most part I would rather avoid the hot heads and say I don't know which way we'll go. Also don't think the world needs to envision what our son's penis looks likes, rather circumcised or not.

Well, I read you loud and clear on that last point. I suppose I just thought you could play a really key role in helping people see it as an unjustifiable procedure.

Even religion-wise, I have a problem with it, because I think religion should be an individual, personal choice, not something that is permanently, and painfully, inflicted onto you by way of amputation of genital tissue.

I just think it would be great if you stood up against it... and supported the genital integrity of infants.

When it comes to family/friends, we stand our ground. I have actually ended up in a verbal altercation w/ family over this and gone months w/ out speaking to them. I also have no problem stating FACTS *of course they are in favor of leaving the males intact* but I won't speak out against someone's religion. Nor would I ever force my opinion on someone, as I wouldn't want it done to me. U know what I mean?

How long did you consider circumcizing your daughter? How would circumcising your son be good for your family? And if you were going to do this to your inocent son, dont use a rabi. research which method is the least painful and have it done under steril conditions in a hospital.

Some do it for religious beliefs. We are not Jewish however... And we don't have a reason to do it, I don't think? lol Ped's actually advised against doing it now days.

lmao! Torture kitties. My niece literally does torture my cat.. She lives with 2 hyper kids (That I can't stand) and she has a dog. So she like gets in my cats face and barks or growls we get on her about it but she does it again... It is very irritating lol

my brother n law was not circumcised and he had alot of problems with it ( I never asked questions) but it was bad enough problems and he demanded my nephew be circumcised. so I guess it depends on if the parent has had a bad exerience with it. Ive seen comments on other pages with people completely upset and rude that they would do that to their baby, but if its gonna be a health problem later on, you have no other choice, just like my bro n law.. he didnt want aden to go through what he does

Typically it's probably b/c he wasn't cleaning his self well enough, sad to say... It's very rare that it is anything other than for needing to result in having it done. There have been instances where the parent or Dr tried retracting the skin b4 it was ready to retract and damaged it...It's all about knowledge and prevention though.

I dont know, she said he kept it well clean and still had problems, I dont know details so I cant tell ya what problems he had and why lol..Thats just what she told me and why they wanted him circumcised. Its really just up to the parents and how they feel about it

i understand how you feel i went back and forth about getting our son circumcised with my husband. it reall wasnt a big deal to us and our insurance didnt cover it so we werent gonna get it done. and the only reason we did get it done is because my parents decided to pay for it for us($300). but as far as pain meds my ob did the circ and he automatically gave him shots in the penis to numb it. and my ob wouldnt do the circ after 2 weeks of age if that kinda helps get an idea of how it works

Thanks! I know how it it's done w/ the Rabbi but not w/ hospitals until this video that is, I've received a lot of responses. But we'd still never have it done in a hospital.

just be sure that you trust whoever is gonna do it. my dad was really adament(sp) about us watching it be done when we had it done because they can screw up the circ if they dont cut right. im not a man so i dont know and my husband wouldnt know either(if you know what i mean) he said that they could mess up and not cut evenly and that skin that was not cut off like it was suppose to be could pull the penis in a direction that is wasnt meant to go ya know? so if you do have it done be careful

Yeah but I have CRAZY THICK hair, so pulling it up gives me headaches it's massive heavy! So its completely off my neck for right now :)

They say that it's a lot cleaner for the boy if you circumcise him and also it's done so much now that he may feel weird about not being circumcised once he is a teenager. What are your reasons for wanting it or not wanting it done?

The cleaning is a MYTH, I have thoroughly researched that... The pedis actually advised AGAINST circumcision now... And as for appearance it depends on where u live. As some areas are almost all circumcised as others aren't. My reasoning is nothing vain, or cosmetic thats for sure, b/c again my own personal opinion is if u base circumcision on APPEARANCE then thats SCREWED UP! That is wrong in so many ways, just my opinion though.

Ok I didn't realize the cleaning thing was a myth I hadn't heard that. I agree with where you live being part of it. I live in California and it's done pretty regularly here. The only reason I mentioned appearance is because all the guys I know that aren't wish their parents had it done for them when they were babies.

Thankyou for having such an open minded opinion about circumcision! Ive always been told that being circumcised is cleaner than not, but im sure if you wash properly that just isnt the case! And having your child circumcised for appearence only is totally wrong. I think if he feesl uncomfortable about having a foreskin when he is a teenager he can choose to get the procedure done himself and the parents shouldent have the decision to change him unless for a religious ritual etc

My husband and I both did agree if we choose not to have him circumcised that if later in his life, AT ANY POINT he decided he wanted to have the procedure done, we'd pay for it, even if he was 40 yrs old.

I have a question how does it feel being pregnant for the second time ? meaning that with the first pregnancy in my case i did not have any experience to deal with a newborn. Is that excitement and emotions the same? I have one only child and i thinks this is it for me.

as for the circumcision, i totally don't believe in it BUT i do know that nowdays you don't need to opt for the scaple as they have a plastic ring that goes under the foreskin but over the penis and a surgical string is tied tight around it so that the forskins circulation is cut and it dries up and falls off. Much nicer I think and safer, no risk of cutting too much and much less of a problem pain wise.

They give you three options in the hospital for circumcision. You can get this numbing jell, or you can get a shot to numb it, or you can get this ring put on his penis that slowly will circumcise the boy over time and it is supposed to be painless. LOL

My son did not get circumcised until he was almost a month old. I thought that was too long, but I guess it wasn't. I have also know people whose boys get circumcised until well into their teen years and even adulthood.

Yes I know it can be done later, and even at a yr old. As I have a friend whos boy has a platelet problem and CANT until he's at least a yr old. If we decide to not have our son done and later he decides he wants it done, at any time in his life, we'll pay for it.

Yah b/c I have heard of places who don't use anything... They said it was such a quick procedure it wasn't needed. I haven't personally spoke w/ a place that did use anything? But in response to this video I am hearing of quite a few places that do :) Which I guess is a good thing?

I didnt circumcise my oldest, so if you ever have ?s about either im up to answering lol..My sons dad, my fiance isnt my oldests dad.. So he wanted patrick circumcised. I made sure I asked what was going on because to me that was scary. Patrick was fine during the circumcision, the nurse told us he slept through the whole thing. and the healing process was a week and a half maybe. my son left on the 3rd day i had a csection so they waited til we left

oh and when he came back, he was asleep as well.. he didnt mind nor felt anything.. i agree with you on it not being everyones choice.. i have actually seen people yell at people about them doing circumcision. and like u said u will know whats best when he comes here. oh and the ur hair looks pretty :D

I've read some pretty convincing articles that explain how those babies aren't just peacefully sleeping as someone cuts them there.. they are actually retracting into a state of shock.

I'm not just trying to offend you by saying this, but they've shown babies feel pain acutely - theres no doubt about it.

Think about what happens to an adult when something severely traumatic happens...

This "numbing cream" is EMLA. The product can cause serious side effects in ADULTS including, seizures, irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing.

Read the manufacturer's monograph, "Not for use on the genitals, Not to be used on children under 6 months old.

Next time you have a child how about taking the whole baby home?

i cant believe the look in my sons eyes after i got him circumcised. if i have another boy i will not do it. and yes they use a local anestetic. and they like to do it with in 72 hours

I have watched pretty much all of your videos! I think you are such a happy energetic loving family!! :D I have not known anyone personally who has delivered at home. But I think it is such a neat option! Is there any BIG risks like for instance if I delivered at home and something happened I would be like 30 min. away from hospital (and that would be super speeding) I am guessing you have researched this. Talk to a midwife in your area, they would be the best person to answer that question for you! I think you're fine though... Luckily enough for us though we have 10 hospitals w/ in 15 minutes. 2 with in 2 miles. :) One of those being THE high risk hospital for the state of TX. So I'd say they are equipped for anything.

Ok well when I start thinking more about having children I will definetly book an appt. with a midwife! That is awsome to have hospitals sooo close!! You must feel reassured knowing the best possible help can reach you so quickly if you need it! -Sarah
