me and my friend shot some with a 12 gauge, there were all screwed and ripped up and there was no body,22 mags are the best, or a 410 gauge for hunting these

@FrankieJames7 You must have been way too close to your target. Stand back or allow the bird to fly out more, before shooting. I like the standard .22 kill for the best taxidermy bird.

great birds!! I am leaving Alaska in 5 weeks. I will miss them. My wife and I enjoyed a nice spruce grouse dinner last night. Delicious little things.

I just came back from a grouse hunting day here in quebec and I flushed a couple spruce grouse they are great birds ( tasty too ... I hope )

Is there lots of grouse? I say the answer is there are an average number of grouse. I see more of them clustered together in the fall and the spring. Sometimes eight or more at once. Mostly one to three I see on average. Is this a good enough answer?

I don't know what you mean? How did I find the bird? Or the MOVIE of the bird? I filmed it myself in Alaska. I always see them when walking about the woods.
