Ah, nothing like blanket generalizations. Yes the interviewer is stupid. Yes, she is American. It does not follow that all Americans are stupid. Some of us are literate. Some are huge fans of not only McDonagh but Pinter, Beckett, and a lot of other playwrights from the UK and Ireland. The U.S. is FAR bigger in population and geography than the UK and Ireland. It's also a far more diverse place so please mind the generalizations. Not all Americans are ignorant just like not all Irish are drunks.
