With this, the truth is that there will always be "1 spammers". HOWEVER, with GW2 the casual spammer will rarely be able to complete high difficulty, or group tasks. It is very dynamic in combat scenarios. So while your bars are simple, there is a large array of abilities to plan from, and and be used in conjunction to cause very unique "combo" abilities. This will overshadow the "1 spammer"

@MasterElite16 They did include a mana pool in early development (if you check out some older videos of GW2, you will see it) - but they decided to remove it. The only real restriction is the skill/spell cooldown. Dodging is not without restriction though, and the small yellow bar you see on the right side of the skill bar is for dodging.

One of the best parts of this game is that you don't have to group up with assholes like in wow and get kicked because some dick ass don't like how you play. In wow I got kick many times and I didn't even cause group wipes or anything, but just had bitch ass players that didn't want me in the group.

Alright, TO ALL THE PEOPLE COMPLAINING THAT THE COMBAT IS THE SAME:

The main reason the combat looks so boring/bad/what have you is because the majority of people posting their videos here are not all that experienced with the game, so they do what they do best: stand still and mash a few buttons while they try not to die. I imagine that there's so much more there could be, combat-wise; we just haven't seen it yet.

@zionnico Even if it is available on steam, it won't actually be connected to it. If I remember correctly GW1 which is on steam has it's own independent client, as do most MMOs.

In addition, a big orb is probably the best way to show HP since it takes somewhat less space than a square (r^2 x 4 > r^2 x pi) without being less visible. You can easily see it even if you're looking on the top of the screen =)

The elementalist has four elemental attunements, which you can clearly see him switching between. So that's at least 20 skills for just the staff on the lefthand bar. Plus, the elementalist has additional skills tied to different weapons other than the staff. This also does not include the separate underwater skills, or the healing, elite, and utility skills on the right hand side.

Nice to see some new areas and a player who moves while casting. Would've been better if they tried out some of the utility/elite skills, but pretty great compared to some drivers. They actually did a fair job of going through the weapon skills, just didn't switch attunements often & at least one of the air staff skills is a simple speed buff. Hell, there was even a decent sampling of underwater combat.

"1 spamming" will probably be the norm, considering the cooldown system and lack of costs.

Is the targeting mouse-over rather than like a click-on locked on targeting like WoW?

@wylphen30 I'm pretty sure targeting is kind of a focus based auto-aim. Basically when you hit an attack it'll target whatever's closest to center screen (unless it's an AoE that needs to be placed). You don't need to be crosshair exact or anything, but you can change targets fluidly without clicking or tabbing. That's the impression that I get at least.
