I actually had my life saved thanks to mouth-to-mouth when I was choking about a year back. I'm a big dude, 108kg with little fat, been powerlifting for a long time. When the first person tried the heimlich, she couldn't even reach around me, when the second person tried he couldn't compress my stomach enough for it to work. Kneeing my stomach etc was tried, then (almost 3 minutes of no air later) a woman tried mouth to mouth and it dislodged the piece of steak from my throat.
