I am Just 11 And I Jumped From About 20 Feet Without A Roll And Fractured My Leg.
Anyways Your Tutorial Is Nice And I Got Some Inspiration To Do Parkour After Recovering My Leg. Can You Please Make A Tutorial On Roll? Please??? Thank You
Hey i'm looking at becoming a police officer and one of my biggest issues is effectively climbing over fences. I just can't seem to get over them without snagging some part of my clothing. Any tips or videos I could check out?
@regcav87 I'd say just learn a bunch of vaults like the safety vault, Gate vault, ect. Those tend to help with fences but there is one thing that no vault can help you with and its those chain link fences that have the sharp twisty things on top. There is pretty much no safe and fast way to get over one unless there is stuff to jump off of that can get you high enough to not even touch the fence
@ArtPro13 If you want to go then you should go. Just remember that your age is an important phase of growing up and it might be wise to avoid big drops and impacts for a while.
Starting from just hanging I can do 1 pull up. Maybe cause I am too heavy for my muscells? I am 60Kg but because of my height (5 feet 6 inches) it is good, this is a problem for me, I think if I loose weight I can do more pull ups but I should also gain strength. One week of negatives will get me to do atleast 3 pull ups right?
@TheToepe Well it sounds to me like you have allready started doing parkour. Remember to avoid some big drops and impacts because you are quite young and your bones are still growing.
@Hurjapaa83 Hey, my brother is 14 years old and he thinks he can do parkour. I've been seeing him watching parkour tutorials on web, and i am wondering that can he really do it? Please answer
@Hurjapaa83 Hey, my brother is 14 years old and he thinks he can do parkour. I've been seeing him watching parkour tutorials on web, and i am wondering that can he really do it? Please answer
@TheToepe I just turned 14 and i started doing parkour about 5-6 months ago. Its great cross training and probably the best hobby ever. So you should definetly go for it. But yes avoid big drops and if you are doing it during a growth spurt make sure to watch out for osgood schlatters.
@TheToepe yes it is good time for you, because that younger what you start to parkour, you'll learn faster, im 14 years old have 5 days parkoured, and i have learned something too:), only need little bit strength and thats all
Hi, just to say that this is the best,(if not the only) video about conditioning for climb up in parkour! I just wont to ask you one thing: "how many pullups should you be able to do minimum for climb ups?? How to know is the problem technique or conditioning(strength)? I CANT do climbup. And I have problem doing pullups(can do only 1-2), so i will be doing negatives like you sugested 6 series, every serie one more pullup. Hope that will resolve my problem
@ShimmyNS Thanks a lot :) It's hard to say an exact number of pull-ups needed to do a climb-up. Maybe 5 or more. But if you have fast muscles that can create explosive movement it may only require 2-3 pull-ups. So if you are able to do a pull-up with a clap of your hands I think you should be able to do a climb-up if your technique is good.
Is There Any Easier Way To Train For Beginners? i can Do Max about 3 Regular Pull Ups? Is There A Way For A Head Start? Before Doing All This Hard Work?
This is a good series of videos you have done so far. I feel like a lot of parkour videos over look the importance of the climbup in lieu of more flashy things like vaults and drops. But in my opinion some of the most fundamental aspects of parkour are wall runs and climbups.
@SIMMONATOR96 No they have effect to completely different muscles. handstans press-ups effect mostly on triceps, front part of deltoids and a bit to pecs. Pull-ups mostly effect on latissimus dorsi (big muscle in your back, don't know the name in english so it's in latin), biceps and a bit to the back part of deltoids. So if your goal is a muscle-up or a climb-up you will have to train pull-ups. There's allways different muscles working when pushing and different muscles when pulling.
@upperkatt If your body can handle the stress well and can recover fast from a workout you could try this: Monday Gym upperbody (chest and up from there) , Tuesday Parkour (mostly lower body stuff like precision jumps), Wednesday Gym lower body (abs and down from there), Thursday Parkour (mostly upperbody stuff like climb-ups), Friday Gym upper body, Saturday Parkour runtraining (lots of moving), Sunday REST. Next week change the places of upper body and lower body trainings -> 2xlower, 1xupper
@Hurjapaa83 i had parkour training(self thought with very few ppl) and fell from the first floor, i did the roll just in time but had a huge sprain on my legs, can you post a video on how to do a proper roll?
@tornadodude1609 This is the best tutorial I've seen so far for advanced rolls. I don't think I could add much more to it. Advanced Parkour Roll Tutorial - Levi Meeuwenberg [SkyNative]
@Evilgothicking You can do pull-ups with a tree branch or in a playground using the beam of the swing or any playground climbing scaffoldings. You can buy a pull-up bar that can be placed in your house to a door frame.
@freerunnerman888 My breathing rythm is that I exhale while pulling up and inhale while descending. You could try the other way around and see which feels better. The most important thing is to remember to breath. Some people have the habit of holding breath when doing workouts. You need oxygen for your muscles to keep going. About the grip I think do with the one that feels better. Some people get pain in the elbows if they do many pull-ups with knuckles facing you. Palms facing is easier maybe
@Hurjapaa83 Also you might want to think about your goals. If you do pull-ups for climb-up then knuckles facing you is more similar in motion. Personally I do pull-ups with both grips.
@Hurjapaa83 lol my i did the work out and i had to switch to the negatives. i didnt make it to the 6 set. now my area between my biceps and forearms, on top of my elbow joint, are really sore. been like that for 2 days. normal right?
@freerunnerman888 It will take a while for your body to get used to the stress that a hard workout will give. In time you won't be as sore as you are at the moment and you are able to do the next workout sooner and sooner. Just remember to let yourself rest. Don't train with sore muscles. At least if your goal is to get more strength and/or to grow your muscle. If you want you could do a very light workout which will help your recovery. Just remember to keep it extremely light.
I know of absolutely nowhere where I would be able to do pull ups. There aren't any parks or anything near my house and no bars anywhere inside my house either.Would push ups be okay just to develop muscles that can support my body weight and lift me up or do you really need to get used to pulling yourself up?
@FaintlyPsychotic Hey sorry for such a late responce, somehow I have missed your question. Anykind of training is good for you but if your goal is to be able to do a climb-up then I think it is required to do some (a lot) of pulling work with your muscles. Use your imagination. There has to be something that you can use, a tree with a branch or could you make a bar yourself maybe.
@Dysangel1983 Thanks for letting me know :D I had no idea. I have always thought that it's spelled strenght. There is probably a lot more of that kind of mistakes in my writings. I'll fix the title but that's about all I can do for now :)
this is a good addition to the other 2 videos you have (the climb-up and its sequel) thanks! (I also like how you shadowed the green text so it is more visible)
whole section at the beggining with the pull ups.....would be alot more usefull for training climbups if your nuckles were indeed facing you for the whole thing. this will activate the more specific muscle groups related to a climb up....
the rest of it with dips for triceps etc and dyno's for explosive energy is allll gooooooooooood
@dominicluke Yeah thanks for commenting, your videos are great I just watched a few.
Well I thought that for a person whom isn't able to do a pull-up it would be easier to start with this grip since at least for me those muscles feels stronger and it seems to be a bit easier to do a pull-up.
@Masterpg2007 Thanks! The music includes different tracks from videogame street fighter 2 (from the 90's I think), also remixed to sound a bit more modern
how do you go over the bar????like when you do pull ups then you go over the bar and do some dips

I know this video is old so you would know by now but for anyone viewing this in the future,
At 1:46 is a chin up, not a pull up you need to turn your hands to face the other way or it is useless for parkour.
