  • you not only have the beautiful look, but also the beautiful mind. I did some soul research recently too, you inspired me to think deeper. I do enjoy your speech, please make more vids like this when you are free.

  • damn ur hot

  • michael:) you should make more videos like this. love it!

  • I can tell you're intelligent; I love listening to you speak. It's intellectually stimulating. The way you formulate your thoughts, the way you can just speak so effortlessly and coherently. I love it. Please come back and make more videos like this and share your insights! =)

  • your nose job is pathetic =)) you look like a mummy =))

  • Hi Michael, I propose u to read the book -Mastery of Love- by Miguel Ruiz, it will open your eyes wider than u could ever imagine ;))

  • Where did you go?

  • He lifts his eyebrows a lot lol

  • I had a motivational speaker at school who said you should think of your goals as your reflection in the mirror, your reflection wont move until you move. If you're standing away from the mirror you have to take a step towards it before your reflection will take a step towards you. I think that's so true. I love this video and hope you'll make more of them :) Peace and love <3

  • can attract everything you want by giving love and positive energy, and that the universe will support you and give you what you want as long as you cooperate... If you believe you can have everything you want, you can have it. If you think something is "unrealistic" it probably is for you because you're setting an invisible boundary for yourself if you know what I mean.

  • I just read "The Power" which is just like "The Secret" only a follow up and it motivated me a lot. This video was great and I get everything you're saying, and I get why you're a little critical of "The Secret" because I think it's written in a way that can have a lot of people misunderstand what the author is trying to say, like people can get anything they want just by thinking positively about it even if they just sit at home all day. I truly believe in the power of attraction and that you

  • Thanks for this video, you are so smart, classy and beautiful.

  • Thank you for this video Michael, it comes very handy for me at this time. I feel like I'm a bit at a cul de sac and your video encourages me to stop doing what bothers me to please others. Like you said there is need to avoid obstacles and it is certainly what I need now to get the machine working again.

  • I've had such a rough 10 weeks at school. All my muscles are so weak right now. I started with such positivity and worked my butt off and it didn't pay off. All other people in my class have been doing so well and I'm so lost right now. What you're saying is very much true and I hope it will help me these next 3 months on my internship (doing the same thing I've been failing at for 10 weeks) Thank you!!

  • I agree, knowing your limitations is not about restricting yourself but learning on how to balance your life. Thanks for the wonderful video. Its inspiring.

  • I really appreciated this video. I suggest for everyone GTD.

  • you are both beautiful and smart - just keep being you :-)

  • well said you made great sense

  • loved it; more vids like this please!

  • love this video! way to go, michael! :)

  • Am just glad your back :)

  • Thank you! Just what I needed. I'd love to see more of these videos from you in the future!

  • I absolutely agree with you. We are responsible for our own lives. Only we can change things, make things better, and achieve success. I started my own business worked for 7 years and just recently sold it. The recipe for success is very simple. Decide what you want, plan how to achieve it, and do it. It is great to dream and be positive, but I don't believe that wishing for something makes anything happen. Great video! xx

  • wow is wonderful to hear you.... great subject !!! ur are awesome !!

  • Thank you, for the video, Michael. I'm at the point of my life where I know, I need to change something. I have courage and power to do that. But, certainly, I need some inspiration. I adore people who have dreams and work hard make them happen. Best, Aya.

  • @aigerimnurova You sound to be in a very common spot :) A lot of people ignore their reality when they know deep down they should make a positive change. Go for it :)

  • Well done Michael, I think I will have to watch this again and again. I've always been accused of having "good luck", perhaps to some extent I have been lucky. I like to think that a good attitude, confidence and hard work are the reason things fall in to place.

  • @natalie075 I bet it is your confidence!! Good confidence attracts so many people and opportunities...it sometimes appears like "luck" but it really is something you accomplished (i.e. success) :D Thanks for watching and sharing :)

  • Can't make a home run without swinging the bat...

  • um duh!! u didnt really say anything different Just Read The Secret

  • @AlexHairKing This video was actually critical of "The Secret" so I would hope it was quite different

  • "realistically optimistic"...that's the key and also the puzzle. A great mentor helps who is honest with you and willing to show and share their experiences and knowledge is tremendous. Also, being surrounded by true friends who will comfort you when you fail, encourage you and have your back, but then tell you the truth when you are backsliding or not realistic...they help too! :-) thanks!

  • You are so damn right.

  • yes, please make more of these videos.

  • this was fantastic. thanks michael! also i wish i had your eloquence :) will work on it! ;)

  • I really enjoyed this video. thanks :)

  • So often we see our life in 'lack".....what is missing, what we're losing, what we're not getting. If we realize our propensity to be in that space all the time, we can begin to refocus on what is good, what we have, what we want, and what we can do. Being in a "state of loss" creates more loss. Being in a state of gratitude for even our breath creates more of what we want in life. Great video. Let the evolution in all of us begin! :)

  • Excellent video Michael! It wasn't boring at all, it was very informative, interesting, and it really made me think. I feel like I wanna go out and "just DO it" now haha, but I'm stuck in bed with the flu... haha. Thanks for the awesome video!

  • Michael please do more videos like this! You are one person I can hear for hours and never get bored. Your eloquence is amazing and I really enjoy this video.

    Thanks!

  • Great message, and your complexion is to die for xoxo

  • @CodysCustom Thank you :) ... I will have several skin care videos up very soon :) Some great products to share :D

  • Aristotle said, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.

  • @ralucabastarache Absolutely!! I minored in philosophy, so I am familiar with his various sayings. My favorite - arete :D Thanks so much for watching! -Michael

  • @TheSublimeAgent I Love Philosophy! What do think about this poem? This is just a part of it:

If you think you're beaten, you are,

If you think you dare not, you don't.

If you'd like to win, but think you can't,

It's almost for sure, you won't.

    Life's battles don't always go,

To the one with the better plan.

For more often than not, you will win,

If only you think you can.

Loved your video! You touched on some very important things!

  • Love these kinds of videos! Xx

  • @suchabonvivant That is great!! I have two more planned...maybe Ill put them up soon :) One on "self-love" and one on "standards" :) kinda similar to this one...maybe a bit more controversial haha :D Thanks for watching!

  • Eric Thomas: /watch?v=3NQREuc7JX8

  • No please don't make this the last one, i really loved it! Very interesting and also a really inspiring man is Eric Thomas, you should check out his vids here on youtube - so inspiring! "When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, THEN you'll be successful" I live by that quote :) Check him out whenever you can!

  • you are really an inspiring person with a great personality. I completly agree with all you said even though it is sometimes hard to face certain situation. J’espère que tu continueras à nous rendre de meilleures personnes. Merci

  • GREAT video!!! I so needed to hear this :)

  • ------>Wonderful video!<------

The topic of the video reminds me of how I felt reading Malcolm Gladwell's book Outliers: The Story of Success. The author's research contains many entertaining stories and truths.

  • As a sophomore, we are required to take a class called career exploration. I've been clueless about the process of acquiring a profession. Rather than being inspired in that class, I find myself more confused and scared. This video really helped me understand what it really all means, so thank you

  • this was a very true video. I believe in this 100%

  • Thank you :)*

  • I enjoyed this video! I would love to see more like it. xx

  • I'm really happy to see you back! I've missed your videos quite a bit. Looking forward to whatever you decide to do! I truly enjoy your perspective and find it quite thought provoking. :)

  • I enjoyed this video. But I just find it extremely difficult to change my mind-set. :( I always put myself down and it's not productive at all.

  • yes! Nike's slogan "just do it" sums it up perfectly. great video.

  • Great video. Really interesting. Would love to see more like this.

  • U look like a porn star . . Mmmm

  • VERY GOOD JOB KEEP IT UP

  • Love the video! More pls ;)

  • This video is NOT boring young man it was very informative! I love the whole will power analogy...really made a lot of sense to me. Thanks for making this video.

  • this is one of the first 10+ minute video that i did not forward :) (that's a good sign!) good video Michael.

  • I found myself watching your videos one after another, after another, haha! I had to subb, you 're awsome!

  • ugh.....I LOVE YOU!!!!

  • I really like this video and I hope that you do more in the future. I think it does suit you and your channel because I look up to you as someone sucessfull

  • Well said. Hope u doake more videos like this. This was very well articulated and ur points very valid. Was awsome

  • love this vid.. thanks.. it really made me see things in a differnt way =]

  • I think this is a great video! You did a wonderful job getting your point across and explaining the content of the article! I think this is in line with your channel, success is something we all can appreciate and as well, I did get receive a take home key points!

  • Can you give us a link to this article?

  • this vid is very refreshing from all the vid about beauty and raves about products poping on my youtube page!! Love this video!!

  • Great Video. I would enjoy more of these from time to time:)

  • I really enjoyed watching this video I did not find it boring and I think most people will agree with me that having these types of videos once in a while is very refreshing. I hope we can all take something from this video and become more practical optimists. Everyone should strive for their goals instead of conforming. If we have a dream or a goal we should make it happen :)

  • I loved this - so helpful and I would definitely like to see similar videos in the future. I like the idea of practical optimism because I think the best way to reach a goal is to be aware of the obstacle, not dwell on it, and then find a way to turn it around. I think persistence and resourcefulness are two important qualities for success. Many people have a low frustration tolerance and they give up instead of trying to overcome an obstacle. You have to train yourself to bounce back :)

  • Have you ever read Write it Down Make it Happen? If not I think you would enjoy it.

  • I really enjoyed this topic! More like it please!

  • your beautiful inside and out :) xx

  • Thank you! :)

  • Good video!!!

  • You should read Matthew Kelly perfectly yourself. He has a different view regarding you can't do everything you want to do in life. It's very interesting.

  • Great video, I would love more of these types of videos.

  • Got cut off, damn iPad. Anyway my philosophy is to not set myself for failure. For example if at 39 you tell me you want to be a professional ballerina with no preparation or experience I can safely bet it ain't going to happen. I'd say pick another goal, a practical one.

  • I liked the idea of practical optimism. I'm very practical and can come across as a pessimist but it's

  • I would like to thank you for doing this video today. I am a university student so i am super busy and under a ton of stress and today was a particularly bad day but as soon as i saw this video i had to watch it. You have given me hope once again to march forward and know that i will be successful in my acedemic pursuits :):)

thanks and i look forward to perhaps more of vids like this :)

  • Thank you, just thank you for this.

  • Great video and presentation of the ideas. I also really enjoy the variety of the videos that you have uploaded recently. Thanks :)

  • Love these types of videos! Look forward to seeing more of them :)

  • Sounds like the law of attraction... all pretty much the same. Focus on positive, not the negative... Great video! Loved hearing your perspective.

  • It's comforting to hear this as I bounce back from *serious* burnout d[@_@]b

I really agree with the frames of reference here.

It was generous of you to share your thoughts...

  • Good job at discussing key elements of the article. You are articulate and engaging and come across as an intelligent and competent speaker. You should do more of these type of videos. I think that they will interest your audience

  • what book did u read about the concept of the "grit muscle" and other stuff related to that cuz it makes a lot of sense when u mentioned it. was it from a book u read?

  • love this video..u r beautiful inside and outside. could u touch upon getting better at relationships... love i mean... and picking a good mate or attracting people that deserve your time and attention.ty

  • I love this video!! I love that you touched upon 1) willpower being a muscle that needs to be exercised and 2) that even without abilities, you can become something amazing. Thank you so much for this video -- I think it's a subject that's always relevant, especially in these trying economic times when people's morale can be really low. Keep being amazing!!

  • you are so well spoken and eloquent!!! i like replaying you're vids and just listening you talking!!!

  • i like the title-100% agree with u-self help gimmic-i love "good sence" not common sence-setting goals is necessary-good point WHAT U LACK IN- 2 me willpower is really just makeing up your mind up-no excuses-(if you are drama loving person-mountion out of mole hill your doomed) my favorite saying"-To be truly creative you need to work on your strengths forget about your weaknesses, mediocrity, banality and most importantly forget nOrMaLiTy.

This was one of your best vids keep this up x shelly

  • This is a brilliant video and a topic I'm interested in. I could discuss everything but I only have 400 characters :)

Positive thinking - You hit this spot on. I think positive thinking can get you very far some areas of your life for example, attracting people, jobs, even a relationship. Most people want to be around a positive, confident person especially if you can make other people feel good about *themselves*. This is a great trait to have. But for a car, yes, you have to do the work!

  • I loooooove youuuuuu)))) We all dooooooo)))

  • Michael, this video was awesome!! I'm determined to conquer my math issues beginning today! Thank you for sharing!!

  • Really interesting video thanks for sharing

  • oh boy, your skin looks amazing!! ...and YES please...i like the video and find it very inspiring!!!!!!

  • This is by far the best video you have created. I know im going to be successful. Its not even that I want to be successful... its just kind of comes with want I to do. I just need to overcome my shyness. I think a difference between me and other kids is I have been forced in to maturity. If I was all on my own right now I could make it work.

  • @MissFashionDrama love it!

  • Goal: 25 million by age 25(im 19) -i trade currency(forex) -competitive running/cycling -male modeling -im a personal trainer -im in university studying to be a dentist -i have designed a house on CAD software, 2 physically efficient engines and most of a car. -i am currently setting up a business in canada(im english)in the next 2 years. -im a volunteer radio dj -artist with several works(sculptures poems and i have started writing a book) -i will be a professional in 2 things by 21 all true ;)
  • Please make more of these videos i love videos like these, and it's true it'll only happen if you make it happen =)

  • Great video! Personally I always struggle with identifying my goals - I'm just not sure what I want from life (and I'm 26, so I really should have figured that out by now!). I know I can reach them if they're within a reasonable parameter but I don't know what it is I want to reach. It's frustrating and I don't know how to go about it... any thoughts?

  • @Sechari Don't worry, 26 is not too old to not fully know what you want and how to get it. I will be 25 in a little over a month and I still question it too :) As for how to find it, I find that if you focus on developing your favorite talents, you sorta create a niche that self-evolves and presents opportunities within that space organically. :)

  • @TheSublimeAgent I've faired well doing that so far but I'm starting to get worried that I'll get too old to start over and try out something new soon. Then again - you're old when you feel like old, so maybe I should just stop worrying and continue doing my thing. One thing that gives me confidence is that whenever I follow my own stubbornness I get good results, if I give in and let someone pressure me into taking advice against better judgement, I usually end up failing.

  • Thanks for this video!!! :D

  • I could go on a major rant about how "if you want it - go and get it" is a balancing act (for me), for obvious bipolar reasons (lol ;))... Very inspiring, and very true.

    Looking forward to more videos!

    Much love, -Sakura

  • I loved this video,so many of us are finding life a struggle of late and videos like this with a positive message lift the spirit and i can see by all the other comments that everyone else really enjoyed it to.

  • @raceytracey100 Aww, that is so kind of you. Absolutely, I feel the same way. I will make a few more like this one (sooner than later too). :D Thanks so much for watching!

  • Great video! I am glad I found your channel yesterday. From as early as I can remember I have always been what you call a realistic optimist..and it has gotten me through a lot of things. I totally agree that belief plays a huge part in success. My ideas about this has evolved over time, but what I find that works (keeps my confidence up) is believing that I am already the thing/idea that want to achieve. Because once you start behaving/believing in that new way you eventually become it...

  • @beaubits You are so right!! Also, one's beliefs definitely evolve over time...and it's good that you point this out, because there is always time to make a change for the better :) I am so glad you came across my channel and I hope you stick around and enjoy :) -Michael

  • Thanks Michael for this inspirational video! It's nice to see videos like these because it's that nice little extra push that helps you go forward. Seeing something like this reminds me and inspires me that I have goals yet to succeed. So thanks for taking the time to do this! :)

  • @DorkyLimabean It was absolutely my pleasure. Thank YOU for watching!! And tackle your remaining goals one at a time :)

  • I enjoyed this video very much! Thank you so much for sharing. The motto "just do it" really sums it all up very well ! I read The Secret and I think that by reading that book you can get really lost in thinking positive all the time yet you aren't really doing anything to achieve these results. Can't wait for the next one! xoxox Giada

  • @nauticalbutnice1 Perfect comment! You are absolutely right Giada :) Thanks so much for watching! -Michael

  • Thanks for making this video. I struggle a lot with thinking positively/practically. I think you should definitely make more videos like this.

  • @jessiebelle623 Absolutely!! It is easy to think in not so productive ways :) So just keep your eye on the prize. I will make more videos like this one :)

  • AAHH this is soo what I needed. So inspirational and thoughtful. Thank you for this. xo

  • @luhreynlovesmakeup Absolutely!! And thank YOU for watching and for leaving such a kind comment :)!

  • This really made my day thank you for the positive message and sharing your experiences :) love it!

  • @liezljoie That is such a kind thing to say!! Thanks so much. We can all learn so much from people's experiences :)

  • Great Video!!!!!!!!!!!! Very inspiring, I might actually go work out again lol Glad you're back to making videos! xoxo

  • @MercedesMakeupBlog Yes yes, go hit up the gym again haha (although the best part is probably the can-do attitude)!! It's great to see a comment from you. Thanks so much for watching :)

  • this was so inspirational michael! usually you see these videos which are like 'oh you are beautiful' but this was really unique and different and it has certainly inspired me! I'm current in Year 11 at school in England so I have lots of big exams to sit this year and this has really made me motivated. Thanks so much! xo

  • @LauraTheLollipopp That is so great!! Thanks so much for your feedback. I totally agree, I dislike the videos that try to create an illusion of perfection (i.e. it gets better). Things can be "better" but not just magically haha ...it takes some of one's own doing...but that is actually the fun part :D Good luck on your exams

  • I've been trying to do this for the last couple years...so far so good! I ended up finishing university, getting back with my boyfriend who I was in idiot for leaving because we were made for each other & now I'm on the next step of my life of finding my career & it's definitely been a bit down but I'm definitely trying and not giving up!!!!!! It's really made my a lot happier! It's definitely not easy..at all, lots of ups and downs and fall outs, but definitely worth it.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • @stefania825 This was such a fantastic comment and story. Thank you for sharing!! Yeah, the ups and downs are the things that really work out your will-power muscle (just think of the downs as the time where the muscle is resting and recovering...only to come back stronger) :D Thanks for watching!

  • Thank u Mike! Now I just graduated university and looking for a job now. but I don't know why I am just no motivation to look for a job or do something for myself until I watched this video.... it definitely wakes me up!! I want to be successful!!! ( Excuse my English lol)

  • @watch016trey Absolutely! Just GO FOR IT and be proud of your new university education :) If you have a little time to look for a job, take it slow and really look for the ones you want most :D

  • This video is very beautiful. You are always very inspirational! Also with the beauty videos! Keep on going!

  • @VinDaniels You are too kind. I really appreciate those comments :) Inspirational was my goal and I am so pleased that you thought so :D
