@Iamcalm2 No they shouldnt, why the hell would they do that? Then it wouldnt sound anything like the theme. Some songs are perfect just like they are. You dont improvise the National Anthem. Well, you dont improve the Sesame Street theme either

@buddha713 I like his style - he does no more than necessary. He's not a control freak; he lets the band find their own rhythm and grooves along to that, just helping with the timing on the little syncopated 'blasts' & things.
