I seen Bob Seger Seven times and he only played this one the first time back in 1975 Ain't nobody rocks like Bob Seger .I seen a lot of concerts in my time and Noboby compares to Bob Seger

Saw Bob and the system in the Mile Hi at the old McNicholds and it was so good. He was so messed up he almost crashed on the stage a few times but it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen, back in the 80's He is the Mother Load of Rock forever. Thanks for putting this music on my 'puter so I can jam at home now.

Fantastic - One of the best Rock and Roll records ever written and sung. I got the words from allthelyrics and you can see why it is just awesome. What else can I say but THANKS Bob !
I heard on Kasey Kasem's radio show years ago, that when they recorded this, the boys went in, sat down and rocked it out. They tried two more takes and couldn't get it any better.. ..that's what we hear when we listen to this song. Can you imagine, the first take.. ..stunning.
Yea. A Denver Girl justs says "yea". Many memories and I don't have words with ologists or nothin, but "memories" and it got (and gets) a girl on the dance floor! By the way, the Colorado State Patrol used to be the best.
I bought Bob Seger's Greatest Hits volumes one and two thinking this song would be on one of them. No such luck. I forgot how many great songs Bob Seger did. One of my favorites of all time.
Rock us Bob! I've loved Bob Seger for decades now and the love just gets stronger! Love me some Old time Rock and Roll...and nobody does it like Bob Seger. Can't sleep until I've been to Katmandu with him and Gotten out of Denver with him! Thought we were gonna tear down that new stadium in St. Louis years ago when he lit us up like the fourth of July! Can anybody light you up like Bob Seger? LOL
@duanerichardson... I would say it probably was, but I dont know why killer2504 and the people he refers to as "we" would be so fixated on such a thing.
Yes, this IS Rock 'n Roll as rRock was meant to be. Seger is the most underrated Rockologist of the last 35 years. Superb... And, yes, you may, Beethoven... you may roll over one more time for big, bad Bob Seger and the Bullet Band. Let it roll...
a southern-funky baptist preachin' school teacher.....she had a line on somethin' heavy but we couldn't reach her.....we told her that we needed somethin' that would get us goin'.....she pulled out all she had and laid it on the counter showin'... all I had to do was lay my money down and pick it up.....the cops came bustin' in and then we lit out in a pickup truck....BABY GO! We made Loveland pass in somethin' under half an hour. You look just like a commie and you might just be member...GO!
Born in denver but did a lot of traveling around after high school.Went to nebraska to work for the rail road. After a trip back to denver every weekend sunday would find us on our way back to the corn fields of nebraska with this song on the 8 track. The good old old old days.
Chuck Berry's influence is just so strong its just indeniable that he is the Original Father Of Rock Guitar. Bob Seager is totally underated for his great original classic songs that he has written. He has a very impressive catalogue of great hits too.
agree with all...is'nt this a rock'n'roll cats meow!...."then we lit out in a pick-up truck"...few write great lines like that anymore....!! not "the greatest version ever", though, checkout Dave Edmunds.....
Yes, the original and the greatest version of this classic rock n roll number! ... Vocally and guitarwise this is streets ahead of the imitators ... Bob Seger is one of the great under-appreciated rock and rollers ... I love this music ... what a great way to start the day just hearing this track again!
The chord progression isn't necessarily what makes it sound like Chuck Berry. It's the lyrics, the inflection of Bob's voice, the harmony line, and the guitar that make it sound like Chuck to me.
This tune and others come from the best era of Seger music......Really liked the Bob Seger System... And if you lookat alot of song on "LIVE BULLET" , They were already recorded and alot better I might add. Ramblin" Gamblin" Man, Heavy Music, Get Out Of denver, and The list goes on......My theory is..."You Can"t Beat An Original."
It's a shame that it's hard to find early Seger tunes like Persecution Smith, East Side Story and 2+2=?, not to mention the hits like Ramblin' Gamblin' Man and Heavy Music
Chuck Berry was born in 1926 and with any luck will still be rockin' at 100 years of age.
Bob's version of this song is just over the top 70's party rock that if my speakers weren't so limited, i would move the volume control into ear pain territory.
Great guitar work by Jim McCarty on this track. He's also known by his work in Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels (Jenny Take A Ride, Devil With The Blue Dress)....I am currently in a band with him. I'm the luckiest singer in the world.
a song about a drug deal gone wrong, a car chase and then they get caught, simple but amiazing... and yes a very very clear chuck berry rip off, but almost all rock nad roll is a clear chuck berry rip off
LONG LIVE CHUCK BERRY THE UNDISPUTED INVENTER OF ROCK AND ROLL
I'm not taking ANYTHING away from Chuck, but Ike Turner invented rock and roll. He recorded "Rocket 88" at Sam Phillips' Sun Studios in Memphis in March 1951. The original version of the 12-bar blues song was credited to "Jackie Brenston and his Delta Cats", but that band did not actually exist. The song was put together by Ike Turner and his band in rehearsals at the Riverside Hotel in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and recorded by Turner's Kings of Rhythm.
No argument here, but there were a lot of other guys around that time like Wynonie Harris and Louis Jordan doing similar stuff that's awfully close to "rock and roll". Lots of cooks who helped make some tasty music!
EVRYONE coverd chucks songs and used his sound, he invented rock and roll as its known today and this song isn't a cover but chuck is probaly the most coverd artist of all time all basic rock and roll sounds like chuck berry and alot of chucks own stuff sounds just alike. he has gotta be the best example of a legend in his own time, hes still plays shows, i think hes gotta be at least 80
The first Bob song I heard and I was sold! Saw him when I was a kid in the 70s then again toward late 80s early 90s. Little bro was going thru serious problems so treated him to Silver Bullet reunion. He came out of the show (along with everyone else!) rockin' and feeling great!
Thanks for the post.
Thanks Bob for some of the most classic, classic rock ever made!!

I saw Bob in St.Paul, MN in 2007 and it was great, but I was disappointed he didn't play Get out of Denver and Come to Poppa. Still a fantastic show!
