I hate that Dave went to DDrum, i tried switching over and went back to Mapex. The drums sound like shit, they are very flat and have no tone what so ever. Especially no punch in the band. Also the drums shouldn't MOVE as much as they do, the hardware on them is horrible.

@THEGATHERING20 Nope always used Mapex, then switched to Tama. The did it so they could have their own signature kit, because Pearl, Tama etc wouldn't let them. Said it was to expensive to distribute. DDrum now has Vinnie Paul, and Richard Christy signature kits. For quit a few thousand dollars. Notice how all the hardware is cheap and moves when you hit it. They don't sound horrid, just aren't reliable, or road worthy. Had my Mapex on the road for 10 years. Was great.
