i prefer hungry ghost month in malaysia. can feel the eerieness there. im a singaporean with malaysian roots so i still prefer malaysian chinese culture.
Our Kee kongsi in Sungai Bakap Penang celebrates the Hungry Ghost festivals much grander than the Cheng Ming. I still love going back every year to do my part, cutting veg and setting up the 10 tables, WooooooooooWeeee

very nice, and amazing!! All those colours and the ability of the cooks and of the decorators...it's a real homage to the gods, nature, and humanity!
